Dogwood Camping Site is a secluded camping and caravanning club certificated site, situated in the heart of the beautiful East Sussex countryside. The peaceful location affords a rare chance to relax in lovely surroundings and a base from which to visit the area's fine beaches, such as Camber and Winchelsea, its ancient woodlands and rich, historic diversity.

We are a small, family-run site for tents, motorhomes and caravans offering guests basic facilities and we are open throughout the year. This is an ideal location for exploring East Sussex, and we have the ancient town of Rye, historic Battle and Hastings nearby. There are gorgeous walks straight from the site, and an excellent pub close by serving fresh, locally sourced food daily. You will find our welcome friendly and unobtrusive. Open all year and dogs are welcome.

The whole site was very peaceful and secluded.
Access is down a tree lined drive and so the traffic is not directly alongside the camping pitches .
There is a wood built wash cabin with a small utility type room with freezer for ice blocks, a kettle, toaster, microwave and hair dryer.
There is a charging point for usb and 3 pin socket.
Numerous leaflets describe local attractions and nearby places of interest.

The men can use the 'compost urinal' behind a screen outside the cabin which was completely odourless.

The 2 toilets were kept very clean.

The use of the shower is free.

There is a rubbish organising area outside for recycling and disposal of dog waste
A pot washing sink is also here with cold water tap.

Fire pits can be hired from the owners and they also sell wood to burn.
There was home made bread for sale, free range eggs .and croissants and I believe there is a little shopping area in the owners cottage but we didnt check it out as we were only there 4 nights and brought all our food with us.

    Dogs are allowed.

There were electrical hook up pitches for those who wanted them.

We biked to rye and back along part of the national cycle network.

There is apparently a good pub in walking distance.

The pumping station up the road is worth a visit for the steam engines and the nuclear bunker.

There is a bus stop right opposite the camp site.

They have a yurt for those who like glamping.

    Chickens roam around the site.

You can hear owls at night.

A little blackboard stands by the car park drinking water pipe telling when bread etc is available

There is a small hard surface car park so that the field doesnt become a quagmire.

The field felt very private and secure and not at all over crowded

It was a long trudge to the loos in the dark, remember to bring torches and wellingtons.

The shower was freezing which may have been because I didnt turn the light on (Hubby thought the light switch probably worked the electric heater in the shower too).

The pot washing area is outdoors and could really do with an awing of some sort
