Campsites in Southport, Merseyside

15 bookable campsites within 15 miles of Southport Sorted by distance

There is a lawnmower museum in Southport. The British Lawnmower Museum in the seaside town’s Shakespeare Street has a dramatic 300+ mowers on display, including one previously owned by Prince Charles. (Although we’d bet all our summer holiday cash that he didn’t mow the grass at Bucks Palace himself.)

Now that you’re going camping in Southport to visit the museum forthwith, we’ll plough through the many other sights to see in and around town… golf most certainly first, as Southport is on England’s ‘Golf Coast’ and has the Open Championship host Royal Birkdale Golf Club, the Southport & Ainsdale Golf Club, Hesketh Golf Club and quite a few more in the surrounding locale.

Beaches and miles of National Nature Reserve sand dunes next (or first if you don’t like golf) and might we also interest you in a tram ride along the pier or feeling very pleased with free entry at Southport Pleasureland? Southport campsites are a well-placed base too for city lights: Liverpool, Manchester and Blackpool are within 20 – 35 miles. All quite mowtivating…
