General

  • Family-run park three miles from Blackpool
  • New amenities blocks with underfloor heating and free hot water
  • Short drive from the championship golf course Royal Lytham & St Annes

Three miles from Blackpool! If you want to pitch up near the Pleasure Beach, give things a whirl at popular Pipers Height Caravan Park, set in 60 acres of greenery an easy drive or bus ride from the city sights and lights.

Pipers Height doesn't like to toot its own horn, but it's got a pretty solid reputation for its high standards as a family-run park, with newly renovated and spotlessly kept amenities including toilet and shower blocks with underfloor heating, separate disabled and family facilities, and a well-maintained laundry room with coin-operated machines, an iron and an ironing board.

In the evenings, on the off-chance you're not boogeying the night away in Blackpool, the Pipers Height clubhouse is open every weekend during low season (November to March) and from Thursday to Sunday during the summer. It has a licensed bar, lounge area, beer garden, pool table, large screen telly and live entertainment every Saturday evening: kids are welcome too as long as there's an adult with them.

The Pipers Height pitches are all generously sized and fully-serviced hardstandings, with electric hook-up, individual water points, personal grey waste disposal, illuminated service bollards and plenty of room for a car and an awning.

Also on site is an adventure playground with zipwire (for the kids to reach heady heights at) and a well-stocked shop (for ice-cream afterwards).

And if you do plan to boogie the night away in Blackpool? Get a bus from the nearby Tesco into town for a couple of quid; taxis back should cost about a tenner. Party on.

Please note

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

No hen/stag parties permitted via Pitchup.com.

Single-sex bookings of 3 or more people (couples and immediate family members excepted) are not permitted via Pitchup.com.

Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.

Twin axle vehicles are not permitted on site.

The club house is open every weekend during low season (November to March) and Thursday to Sunday throughout the summer.

Absolutely excellent site. Spotlessly clean. Pitches are the biggest we have ever stayed on. Can't fault it.

    Disliked:

Wifi a bit expensive, but works well.

From the manager...

Thank you for your review. Unfortunately the cost of providing and maintaining a good WIFI service does not come cheap.
We hope you return soon.

The site is lovely and clean and we enjoyed our stay very much. It's close enough to places with shops and facilities for both old and young people, easy transit by bus or taxi rides and we found parking to be quite normal for modern busy Towns/Cities used by holiday makers. All site staff that we had any contact with were very courteous and helpful. We didn't have any dislikes but the Porch Awning steel pegs took a little more effort than usual due to the very nice but large gravelled pitch and for obvious reasons they were a bit easy to loosen, just a small problem and not a holiday spoiler. WiFi works fine also.
All in all a very clean, pleasant Holiday at Pipers Heights.

Sorry if this spoiled your experience. Our site rules are fairly strict when it comes to home conversions. We have so much trouble with them tripping our electric supply.

Local attractions

To Blackpool! The Pleasure Beach theme park, autumn illuminations and Blackpool Tower don't need much of an intro from us: if you haven't been before, go and plunge in.

The Pleasure Beach theme park has been going strong since 1896 and is the most visited attraction in all the land, with the biggest number of rollercoasters in any theme park in Britain. The Big One, the tallest roller coaster in the UK (once the world) will give anyone a Big drop in their tum on its very big drops: very highly recommended.

Heaps more is laid on at the park including thrill rides, dodgems, more rollercoasters, an ice show and the Wallace & Gromit Thrill-o-Matic: as we say, go and plunge in.

A climb up Blackpool Tower and a delve into Blackpool Tower Dungeon should be next, before trips to Blackpool's three other main attractions: Blackpool Zoo, set in 32 acres and with over 1500 animals; Blackpool Sea Life Centre, where over 2,000 inhabitants live in 50+ displays, and the city's Sandcastle Waterpark, the biggest indoor waterpark in the UK.

At Stanley Park, Blackpool Model Village has hundreds of village scenes and models showing British life, all set in landscaped gardens.

And if your little people were round-eyed at Blackpool Zoo, they should also like the award-winning Farmer Parr's Animal World in nearby Fleetwood, to see farm animals, rare breeds and some more exotic, non-native species.

Must see

  • Pleasure Beach Resort (3.2 miles)
  • Sandcastle Waterpark (3.3 miles)
  • Blackpool Illuminations (3.6 miles)

  • Rufford Old Hall (12.2 miles)
  • Formby (15.8 miles)
