General

Set in 25 acres of picturesque, unspoilt countryside in the heart of the Lake District, award winning Park Cliffe offers visitors a tranquil, yet accessible, retreat from the hurly-burly of modern life.

Just a short distance from Bowness-on-Windermere, the park is in a world of its own with breathtaking views over fell, lake and an abundance of woodland wildlife – squirrels, roe and red deer, foxes and birds – in evidence all around.

There are lots of great walks right on the doorstep and the park’s natural features – especially the meandering shallow beck – are even more popular with children than our specially designed adventure play area!

Whether you arrive at Park Cliffe with tourer or tent, hire a caravan or camping pod or to enjoy a regular break in your own luxury holiday home, you’ll find a warm welcome from our friendly staff, plus peace, comfort and fresh air aplenty in this most beautiful location with a range of modern park amenities to tempt even the most discerning traveller.

William Wordsworth’s Home (Dove Cottage)
Dove Cottage was the home of William Wordsworth from December 1799 to May 1808, the years of his supreme work as a poet. If you prefer outdoor pursuits, there are many sporting and recreational activities within twenty minutes’ drive of the park, including: walking; rock-climbing; sailing; canoeing; horse-riding; fishing; golf; and balloon rides.

For those bringing a sailing boat, launching is available at Ferry Nab, contact the Lake Warden. Boats can also be launched at Fellfoot Park.
