General

The Screes Inn is run by Mark and his small but dedicated team, who are looking forward to welcoming you to our cosy inn in the western Lake District.

The Screes Inn is a traditional village local pub and is a great base for walking and climbing. Based in the small hamlet village of Nether Wasdale in the beautiful Wasdale valley we are a stone's throw away from 'Britain's Favourite View', the deepest lake in England - Wast Water - and the highest peak in England - Scafell Pike.

The inn itself has a large comfortable bar area with a traditional open fire which roars away during the colder months. We offer a good choice of home-cooked food, real ales from Robinson's Brewery and Hawkshead Brewery and a fine selection of malt whiskeys.

A sauna and Jacuzzi is located in the main building of the pub it is free of charge for guests staying in our static caravan and for guests camping with us the charge for use is £5 per person per hour.

We cater for couples, climbers, walkers and we are dog friendly.

There is free wifi available throughout The Screes Inn.
