Our campsite is small scale, quiet and friendly, set on a sheep farm in a level field with beautiful views of unspoilt countryside in all directions. We offer our campers 'camping as it used to be', so pitches are set around the edge of a large field with lots of room between - very spacious and plenty of space for even the biggest of tents.
Campfires are allowed in the hearths provided and you can buy logs at the farm. Pack your sausages and prepare to relax in peace and quiet!
Two friendly village pubs serving very good food and real ales are a pretty ten to 15-minute walk along the lane or across the fields.
There are varied and beautiful hill or valley walks from the campsite through lovely countryside. Up-to-date info is provided on recommended places to walk, eat and visit, countryside events and days out. We can also supply you with a handy little booklet: 'Nine great walks from Low Greenside Farm'.
The Lakes, the Dales, and the lovely Eden Valley are all close by for days out. There is direct access onto the Howgill Fells for long walks with only sheep and ponies to keep you company!

In Ravenstonedale village, about 10 minutes' walk from the farm, are two country pubs with riverside gardens, both serving good food and real ales, a village grocery shop, children's playground, public tennis court, 9/18-hole golf course, and a small art gallery.
There are plenty of interesting local walks and bike rides - several start at the farm gate, including country walks with refreshments to be had at a pub or café en route. The Howgill Fells are a few minutes' stroll up the lane for walking and mountain biking.
Nearby you can go pony trekking or trout fishing - catch one and barbecue it later (the trout not the pony!).
The characterful market towns of Kirkby Stephen, Appleby and Sedbergh are all within a few miles, each with its own attractions. We'll keep you up to date with events in the area, such as local shows and festivals, farmers' markets and other rural happenings.
There is excellent access for days out in both the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales but none of the hustle and bustle. The Eden Valley is equally beautiful and remains strangely undiscovered!
Information on all of the above is available at the campsite. There is also a Visitor Information Centre in Kirkby Stephen.
