Howbeck Lodge: Pitch

General

  • Peaceful touring pitches on a family-run working farm with great views
  • Bassenthwaite, Ullswater and Helvellyn within a half-hour drive
  • By the C2C cycle trail; 10 minutes' walk from village shop and pub

Howbeck Lodge is a peaceful site on a family-run working farm at the northern tip of the Lake District National Park, with lovely views out over the river that runs past the pitches and out to the green countryside beyond.

This may be a rural site but it’s a most conveniently located one: the M6 (Junction 41) is easily accessed 10 miles away, and the village of Hesket Newmarket is 10 minutes’ walk away for a village shop and pub. The C2C (Coast to Coast) route passes just by the farm as well, so this makes a handy stopover for any cyclists making their way across the country in that way.

Days out are just as handy: it’s straightforward to get to several of the northern lakes (including Ullswater and Bassenthwaite) and peaks like Skiddaw and Helvellyn, or to Hadrian’s Wall or the Solway coast. Carlisle is half an hour’s drive away if you feel the need for a bit of city time.

The farm’s serviced pitches are dog-friendly and have access to facilities including free wifi and a toilet and shower block a short walk away.

Please note

Protective masks must be worn at all times in common areas.
