Foodies might want to whisk themselves off to Carriages Touring and Camp Site for eats aplenty in Cheshire: this park has its own pub and restaurant serving homemade meals... and is five minutes' drive from The Ice Cream Farm for copious scoops of dessert.
If filling up on fare isn’t why you’re heading to the area (tsk), the site’s also well placed for Cheshire countryside adventures and activities, with the mile-long Crocky Trail’s slides, rope swings, climbs and chain bridge five minutes’ drive away. The Sandstone Trail is accessible within 15 minutes’ drive at either Tarpoley or Frodsham for wanders of a more challenging nature on a 34-mile long-distance hikers’ path, and it's 20 minutes' drive from Carriages to city days at Chester.
A stay at this site means there’s no need to limit yourself to exploring England either, as the wide, sandy beaches of north Wales around the seaside resort of Rhyl are within 50 minutes’ drive.
Electric showers, an Elsan point and water and toilet facilities are all on site for guests' use. And then (back) to the bar and restaurant to sample locally sourced food made freshly to order: take it out to the beer garden or sort your own alfresco eats at the handy barbecue area.
