Holmfirth Cricket Club will turn its picturesque ground into a temporary campsite with parking, food, drink and entertainment duting the 2014 Tour de France - Grand Depart. We are the nearest site to the town centre with access to the site just off the main road and within easy walking access from the site via a footbridge where you can view the peloton as it makes its way along Huddersfield Road on its way to the iconic Holme Moss Climb.
Our facilities include indoor toilets, one disabled, hot showers (not disabled) extra portable toilets on site plus hand washing facilities, plug points for hair dryers. Ice pack exchange. fresh cold drinking water available. Breakfasts on sale from clubhouse kitchen, food, hot and cold drinks and fully stocked bar selling real ales, lagers, cider etc (not included in pitch price) Live music Friday & Saturday evening (included in pitch fees) Free Wifi (TBC) Phone charging (bring own chargers) Club staff on site, secure cycle storage (TBC) Family club so all children welcome.

Many sites set a maximum occupancy of 6/8 people per pitch, so try breaking your booking down into smaller groups to generate more results. For example, if you’re a group of 10, enter 5 people in your initial search and then book 2 pitches.
However, where the pitch or accommodation occupancy allows it, you can make a booking for up to 30 adults and 30 children in one booking.
To book multiple pitches or accommodation, use the 'Special requests' box on the booking page to ask to be sited together. Complete the booking form for the first booking (you can add a password and save your card so that we remember your details). Then click "Make another booking like this" at the top of the confirmation page to make the next booking.

Getting to our site could not be easier whether you are travelling by cycle, car or public transport. We are less than one hour travelling time by car from Huddersfield, Manchester, Wakefield and Sheffield. Our nearest railway stations are Brockholes, Honley, Shepley, Glossop or Greenfield. Buses run frequently direct to Holmfirth from Huddersfield Bus Station. There are also local taxi firms operating in the area
There are lots of things to do in and around Holmfirth - made famous by the long running TV series Last of the Summer Wine. We are a minutes walk from a large supermarket, lots of pubs, wine bars, restaurants, takeaways and shops.
Why not join us a couple of days before the race, bring your cycle and ride the route, try the iconic Holme Moss climb. This is where one of the KIng of the Mountains will take place and where the red polka dot jersey will be awarded for the winner of this climb.
If you prefer walking there are plenty of good walks in beautiful countryside with stunning views all around the Holmfirth area so comealong and join us - dogs welcome so bring them along as well.
