Thrybergh Country Park Campsite is located in beautiful countryside on the edge of Rotherham. The 60-acre site has a 35-acre reservoir with woodlands, picnic and barbecue areas. Facilities include a children’s play area, a shop, a cafe.

Bird watching and trout fishing are also available onsite. For the more active the 2.8 km perimeter footpath around the lake is excellent for either an evening walk or a jog.

The country park has recently reinforced its environmental credentials by being awarded funding by Natural England under their High Level Stewardship Scheme.

Terms and conditions

Please read the park terms and conditions below and the Pitchup.com terms and conditions.

These regulations are not intended to be restrictive but must be adhered to for your own safety and enjoyment, and for the protection of the country park.

The use of the word “caravan” includes motor caravans and camping trailers.

The use of threatening behaviour and/or foul and abusive language will not be tolerated and will result in the offender being asked to leave the site by a member of the site team.

Type and size of unit and and number of occupants should be stated in all bookings.

All bookings must have a current permanent address.

Tents must be booked seven days in advance with a cash returnable bond of £100 on arrival.

On arrival any additional occupants or extra not specified at time of booking must be paid for.

Summer season is considered from the third week in March until end of September, winter is from October to end of first week in March
During the summer season the maximum stay is twenty-one days. Clients can return for a further twenty-one days after moving off-site for one week. Two consecutive terms of stay are the maximum length of stay over the summer period, that period being 42 days in any one summer season.

New arrivals must report to reception for pitching instructions and registration.
New arrivals are accepted up until dusk during the summer 7.30pm and winter season 5pm or with prior agreement.

All pitches must be vacated by 12.00 noon on the day of departure.

In the interests of security, day visitors must report to reception or to a team member immediately on arrival. Entry and the subsequent parking will be at the discretion of the management.

Campsite accepts booking only for couples, families, organised groups and parties over the age of 21. Children must be accompanied by a parent or a guardian.

Sub-letting of a caravan, tent or pitch is forbidden.

A lean-to or awning may be erected provided that it forms an integral part of the caravan and can be readily dismantled and transported with the caravan.

Toilet tents designed in accordance with are also permitted.

Caravans and tents must be pitched in positions indicated by the manager or his/her representative.

The pitch must be kept clear of spare equipment and nothing (other than waste water and fresh water receptacles) may be stored under the caravan. On leaving the pitch, the whole area must be left tidy.

All pitches must be three meters (ten foot) from any carriageway with at least six meters (twenty foot) between pitches.

No caravan or touring tent may be left unoccupied for more than 24 hours without the permission of the manager or his/her representative

Properly constructed toilet tents may be erected on the site in positions indicated by the Manager or his/her representative.

The contents of the chemical closets must not be disposed of except by emptying at the disposal points provided.

To avoid possible damage to sewage purification works, visitors may use formaldehyde-based chemical fluids. Under no circumstances may coal tar, phenol or caustic based fluids be used.

A bucket or other suitable receptacle, which must not be allowed to overflow, must be used for collection of waste water and emptied at the disposal points provided.

All waste paper and other solid refuse must be deposited in the receptacles provided for the purpose. Tea leaves must be well wrapped and disposed of similarly.

Anything beyond normal waste must be taken away by user, i.e. barbecues, packaging or similar items etc. The recycling point in the car park to be used for bottles, cans, etc.

Holes must not be excavated in the turf.

All vehicles must be driven on the roadway or tracks where possible, and care must be taken to minimise danger to the surface of the site during wet weather.

Fires must not be lit on the site except by permission of the manager or his/her representative. All visitors to the site must acquaint themselves with the safety precautions against fire and the location of the fire points.

All dogs and other pets must be kept under control. No animal may be allowed loose on the site and leads must not exceed 3m (10ft).

The manager or his/her representative may require any person to leave the site whose pet, in his/her opinion, becomes a nuisance. Dog waste to be disposed of in proper manner, dog waste bins are located around the park.

Musical instruments, radios and other noise emitting equipment must not be used to the inconvenience and annoyance of other visitors to the site. Silence is required between 2230 hours and 0800 hours.

Parents are requested to ensure that children do not cause any damage to trees, shrubs or plants or any other property on the site.

The speed of vehicles on site must not exceed 5mph. Only persons in possession of a current full driving licence, and in relation to whose use of the vehicle there is in force a policy of insurance in respect of third party risks, may drive on the site.

Trading, including the buying and selling of caravans, is not allowed on the site.

At busy times cars of visitors to resident campers/caravanners are not permitted on the site and must park in the main car park . Please check with the staff before allowing friends or family to park otherwise they maybe asked to park elsewhere.

All persons shall observe the above regulations and any other regulation that the borough council may, from time to time, introduce for the preservation of fish, wildlife, purity of water and management of the site. Failure to observe these regulations may result in visitors being asked to leave the site and, if necessary, legal action may be taken.

Regulations of use concerning other activities at the country park can be obtained from the reception.

Site users taking advantage of the fly fishing and caravan weekend offer must book on and adhere to catch limits and all other fishery rules.
