Going north? Navigate to this award-winning little star of a site just off the A1, in a pitch-perfect location for the activities and attractions of Northumberland and beyond.

Small, family-run and meticulously maintained South Meadows Caravan Park is in a rural setting five minutes’ walk from the village of Belford, less than five miles from Berwick-upon-Tweed on the north Northumberland coast, and within easy driving distance of both Kielder Water and Forest Park and Northumberland National Park. Going further north? Base yourself at South Meadows for a trip to the Scottish Borders, a day among the museums and shops of Edinburgh or a historic hike around Hadrian’s Wall.

South Meadows Caravan Park is on 40 acres of landscaped parkland with loads of room in the new play area and the separate playing field to kick back or kick a ball around; if the kids/dogs need to stretch their legs still further, the park is bordered by three acres of woodland carpeted by bluebells, orchids, snowdrops and other seasonal blooms.

The first-class facilities include spacious grass and hardstanding pitches for tents, tourers and motorhomes, a new launderette, water points, chemical waste disposal, and washing-up/food prep areas. The immaculately kept shower and loo block has free hot water, disabled facilities and a family shower and loo area.

Supplywise, stop off at the farm shop a few minutes’ walk away; it’s on the way to Belford village, where you’ll also find shops, pubs and restaurants.

Please read the park terms and conditions below and the terms and conditions.

Additional terms

We are entitled to eject anyone from the site should any client cause annoyance, bad behaviour, damage property or abuse our staff. Should this occur then the fee is forfeited.

Clients or their children may not climb over rail and post fencing around the site. Entrances are provided for access to dog walks.

You are not entitled to cut trees or hedges, or pick flowers on the site or collect fallen wood from the site or Bluebell Wood. If you find any tree or hedge a nuisance or unsatisfactory, please raise the matter with reception.

You may park your car only by tent or caravan. Speed should be kept to an absolute minimum and pedestrians and cyclists must be given priority.

Children are the responsibility of their parents or guardians at all times. Children are to be supervised at all times so that they are not a nuisance or danger to themselves or others. Parents must not let their children play alone in the wood.

Bikes may not be ridden in the site between 10pm and 8am. Bikes must not be ridden around or in the toilet block, nor left so they obstruct the entrance. All ball games may be played only in areas set aside for recreation.

Dogs must be kept on leads at all times within the site. All persons walking their dog in the wood must pick up and place animal waste in the dog bins situated around the site.

The toilet block is open all the time (day and night). No children under five may enter the toilet block without an adult.

The use of unlawful drugs either by sale or use on the site or in the tent or caravan is a criminal offence and will lead to immediate removal of the person concerned. Excessive use of alcohol and drunken behaviour will not be tolerated.

Please respect the privacy of the other clients and keep the noise to a minimum at all times – between the hours of 11pm and 8am we require absolute quiet. Barbecues must finish by 11pm.

Fireworks, firearms or weapons are not permitted on the site.

No campfires are allowed under any circumstances.

Consistent with our environmental policy, we ask all our clients to segregate their rubbish. We have recycling bins for paper, cans and bottles behind reception, so please use the bins provided. We would be grateful if you would keep the area around your tent or caravan clean.

If you see anyone breaking our rules please report that in reception or after office hours no matter what time of the day or night.
