General

  • Family-run park two miles from Grassington in the Yorkshire Dales
  • A short drive to Skipton and Bolton Abbey ruins
  • Walks to Grassington, Linton Falls and Malham direct from the site

Wood Nook Caravan Park is a family-run farmstead park in the Yorkshire Dales National Park and close to Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. You're two miles from Grassington, you've got Stump Cross Caverns, Skipton Castle and Bolton Abbey ruins and heritage steam railway all within 10 miles, and the historic towns of Harrogate and York are a short car or train journey away.

All pitches include electric hookups, and because the park's set among the rolling countryside of the Yorkshire Dales, it's recommended that you bring levelling chocs in case your pitch slopes a little.

Amenities include a heated toilet and shower block, and a laundry room with a washing machine and a tumble dryer.

Friendly dogs are welcome.

It would be nice if there were more activities that get everyone involved like a football competition etc.

    Beautiful area.
    Good, clean facilities.
    Friendly, helpful staff.
    Free wi fi.
    Dog walking track.

    Disliked:

My only niggle was that it was rather annoying having to remember to take a key to open the toilets, showers ect.
I believe that this was necessary to stop the public from using the facilities as there was a walking path running through the site..

Absolutely lovely site. Toilets and showers were immaculate and warm. The showers were hot and you could actually wash your hair in them! Ladies with long hair will understand the struggle!
The site was extremely clean and well looked after. The kids had a separate field to play football in so they weren't annoying any other guests or messing near the tents. It was quiet and set in beautiful part of the world.
We stayed with our 8 yr old who could go off and explore the site and play in the park. Our 3 year old enjoyed messing about in the dog walk wood and looking at the cows. And our 15 yr old dog enjoyed just chilling.
I can't rate the wifi as we didn't use it.

Clean spotless toliets and showers, great wash area beautiful local walks, friendly hosts, great wildlife, picturesque, play area away from tents and all set around a lovely gothic looking building.
Also have to mention that the hosts kindly come round with sand to soak up excess water and puddles from any rain and the politeness of the campers at night with the noise.

    Disliked:

The only issue at all was if you are parked at the bottem of the field it is quite a walk to the toilets at night.
Also when came back from a day out walking, a family had pitched up as close as possible to us encroaching our personal space when they had plenty of room in their own area to give us our own privecy especially when they had their smokey bbq.
This of course was not the fault of the campsite but just had to get this off our chest

    Disliked:

Only one dislike was in the lovely dog walking area people not picking up there dog pooh. This is not the camp sites owners fault and I did mention it when I checked out.
