We want 'The Cud Life Campsite' to be as close to camping as it used to be when we were kids! Tradtional site, with family values, children playing safely, toasting marshmallows on the campfire and meeting other likeminded campers. Clean and warm toilets and showers, well spaced pitches with the most amazing views across the farmland, the only sounds being those of wildlife and the farms own cows. Most guests comment that they cannot believe we are as close to the centre of Harrogate because they feel like they are 'in the middle of the counrtyside'. You can walk to Harrogate in about 30 minutes or into the village of Killinghall in 10-15 minutes where there are two pubs and a fish and chip shop. Having the public footpath going directly through the farm you can't get closer to start a walk in either direction, our favourite being to the historic village of Ripley with quaint shops, gallery, tea room, castle and grounds and of course the world famous icecream! Join up with the sustrans greenway path for walkers, cyclists and horses.

Please note

Our booking conditions can be found on our website and are as follows:

The Cud Life Campsite is a small family run certified location and to ensure the enjoyment of all our campers and holiday cottage guests it is essential that we have some rules. We are prepared to give everyone a chance to stay but please read the following carefully as making a booking with us is in on the understanding that these terms and conditions ARE AGREED and accepted by you. Any behaviour deemed as being disrespectful to other campers or our holiday cottage guests will result in removal from the campsite, there are no warnings or exceptions, if you can’t comply with our simple rules please do not book to stay at The Cud Life!

Be respectful of our family, other campers and your surroundings - This is our most important rule and covers just about everything but we have outlined in further detail below.

Ensure everyone gets a restful night with no noise after 10.30pm - This includes loud chatting and music of any kind. It is really important to us that everyone sleeps well so that they can make the most of their days here in beautiful North Yorkshire and as our house and holiday cottages overlook the campsite – we all need our sleep too!

Fires, BBQ’s and Smoking are only permitted in our specifically designated area - In line with our insurance and the safety of you and other guests this is the ONLY place that we can allow smoking, BBQ’s and fires. We will light our large fire pit every Saturday night but please note it is available for other evenings by arrangement.

Children must be supervised at all times - This is a working farm and there are many dangers. For obvious reasons it is essential that children are not allowed to roam free away from the camping field or around the fire area or toilets unsupervised. However, we are very family-friendly and are even happy to give a little tour of the farm by arrangement if we are available and we welcome families here to enjoy themselves safely.

Keep dogs on leads at all times, pick up after them and do not allow them to be a nuisance - It is essential that all fouling is picked up due to the harm it can cause cattle. Please respect this and use our dog walking field which is clearly signposted. Dogs must be on a lead at all times to protect our neighbours sheep and other campers sausages on their BBQ’s! Excessive barking is not acceptable and dogs must not be left unattended for this reason but please ask us as we may be able to accommodate dogs in emergencies or by prior arrangement.

Rubbish, Recycling and Electricity - We would appreciate your cooperation in not leaving anything other than general food and domestic waste. Recycling can be left in the designated area. Please use the electricity, hot water and toilets with care and try not to be wasteful. Our prices depend on this and the use of electric is monitored.
Enjoy your stay!

The whole reason we have the rules above is for our final rule which is for you to ENJOY YOUR STAY. If you are not happy about anything at all or we can help to make your stay better, please give us the opportunity to put it right for you. Thank you and we very much look forward to welcoming you to ‘The Cud Life’.
