We are close to a wide range of places to visit in the area, including fabulous historic houses, museums, nature reserves and many coastal towns and beaches.

Hornsea - Hornsea is three miles from the site (a five-minute drive or ½ hour cycle ride away along the Trans Pennine Trail). Hornsea is a traditional seaside town with a lovely beach and promenade which you can stroll along and treat yourself to traditional fish and chips.

Hornsea Freeport Designer Outlet - a family-friendly, pleasant shopping destination. It offers popular and designer brands available at large discounts on high-street prices.

Hornsea Mere is Yorkshire’s largest freshwater lake, formed at the end of the Ice Age. The picturesque lake is home to a lot of wildlife, mainly ducks, geese and swans, and is a paradise for bird lovers. There are also rowing boats which can be hired during the warmer months and an onsite café .

The historic town of Beverley is a 20-minute drive away. Voted one of the best places to live in the UK, Beverley is one of Yorkshire’s best kept secrets and is known for its 13th century minster. The town is home to a lively market, a thriving music scene with Beverley Folk Festival and excellent flat racing at Beverley Racecourse. As well as the market and several high street stores there are also many smaller, independent shops. Antique shops and craft arcades are tucked away down the narrow streets.

Hull is 11 miles away, home to the The Deep Aquarium, one of the most spectacular aquariums in the world.

Sweeping down from Flamborough Head in the north of the county down to Spurn Point in the south, East Yorkshire’s coastline is one of Britain’s longest and finest stretches of golden, sandy beaches.

There are many more local stately homes and historic houses with wonderful gardens, including Burton Agnes Hall near Bridlington.
