Finchale Abbey is a family run Touring Park that has been with the current owners since 1951. Set in the heart of the beautiful County Durham countryside, the park lies within a meander of the River Wear and overlooks the ruins of a Benedictine Priory. The peace and tranquillity of the Adult Only Touring Park encourages visitors from all over the world to return time and again and is one of the North East premier residential parks. Well behaved pets are welcome onto the park both as visitors and residents, dogs must be kept on a lead while on the park. The ruins of Finchale have stood in the meander of the river Wear for hundreds of years and the surrounding scenery and picturesque sights and views make the caravan park, which overlooks the Abbey quite unique. We are pleased to announce that the park has been awarded four stars after an inspection on behalf of the Northumbria tourist. The park is also a member of the British Holiday and Home Parks Association. We have been awarded a Silver David Bellamy Conservation award in recognition that the park is managed in a responsible and sustainable way, meeting stringent criteria with regard to saving water and energy, recycling, eco-friendly landscaping, promoting local transport and protecting wildlife and flowers.
