Thorpe Farm Centre is in a peaceful area around our pond and is perfect to keep kids entertained!
The 18th-century Peel House is home to our farm shop, a café, gift shop and a reclamation barn.
We welcome caravans, motorhomes and tents, with or without electric hookup.
Dogs are more than welcome but must be kept on leads.
We have toilet and shower blocks with disabled facilities. We also have fresh water and a chemical disposal unit.
Try our breakfasts or Sunday lunch in the café or buy fresh local produce from our farm shop, including bread, milk, bacon, sausages and eggs.
We are ideally located in County Durham, bordering North Yorkshire on the A66.
We are only nine miles west of Scotch Corner in the beautiful countryside of Teesdale, just ten minutes' drive from the historic market town of Barnard Castle and 15 miles from Richmond in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales.
We have a series of walking paths starting right here and a shortcut to the A66 giving you access to many walking and cycling paths. A map is available from the shop for those who are interested.
Barnard Castle has a variety of interesting shops, pubs/restaurants and attractions such as Bowes Museum and, set on high rock above the River Tees, the castle. We are just around the corner from Rokeby Park, a seventeenth-century country house.
Raby Castle, Eggleston Hall, High Force Waterfall – England’s highest waterfall - and other towns such as Richmond and Middleton in Teesdale are also located within driving distance.
