General

  • Friendly family-run site in the Suffolk countryside
  • Adjacent pond for fishing
  • Surrounded by country walks

Grange Farm Lodge is a friendly family-run site in the Suffolk countryside and a great base from which to explore many local attractions.

On site there is the opportunity to fish in a small pond just adjacent to the site. There is a path set out around the property which is ideal for country walks. Well-behaved dogs are very welcome. The site itself stands in eight acres and the pitches are very large with plenty of room for the whole family.

The family look forward to giving you a warm welcome and enjoyable stay.

    Relaxed, calm and likeable site.
Staff very helpful when we turned up after dark by providing a car's headlights so we could see to pitch by which was massively appreciated.
Site is tucked away towards the end of a dead-end lane in the middle of nowhere, which keeps the site quiet and secure.
Facilities, whilst basic (particularly the gents!) were clean at all times and in good working order.
Great washing up facilities - basically an entire kitchen in a disused caravan, which also housed an ironing board which my partner was chuffed with!
Electric hook ups were close to every pitch as was water, making life much easier.
Pitches were all flat and grass was kept to a short length to make life easier.
Badminton net and swings on site for the kiddies.
Great that the site was almost completely dark at night as well, making star-gazing an easy option (provided the British weather doesn't do the usual!)
And no sign of any drainage issues either - despite rain before we arrived and during the second night we had no issues with standing water anywhere on site which is usual with most sites that are this flat.

    Disliked:

Slightly odd that there is a repair shop for vehicles also on site - I'm only putting it as dislike as it was occasionally noisy so if you are looking for a site that is always quiet you may be disappointed - it never really caused us a problem and seeing a beautiful old Hillman was a highlight!

Beautiful quiet location with lovely walks within the surrounding area. Very helpful and friendly owners, Gee and Heather who were happy to help us and give us advice, just what we needed as first time motorhome owners. Site is very clean and shower and toilet very clean. Pitches are lovely and big too, our children loved our night here ( they are aged 7 & 11) and we cannot wait to come back.

A little bit to far from the local town for our liking. But well worth a stay if you really enjoy country walks.

The gardens are at the bottom of Angel Hill, right in the town centre. Bury St. Edmunds is also home to the IPA Greene King Brewery which offers tours and has a fascinating shop to visit. There's a great selection of cafés and coffee shops to choose from in this pretty floral town and market days are held Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Stowmarket is a small market town just a few miles away and just a little further you will find Ipswich, another historic town with the Christchurch Park and mansion house not to be missed, along with the beautifully redeveloped waterfront area.
