General

  • On a working equestrian centre a few miles from Bury St Edmunds
  • Lessons and rides for ages five and up, including for beginners
  • Modern heated shower room, toilets and launderette

Bardwell Manor is on a working equestrian centre, welcoming both horsey and non-horsey guests. The camping area has just a limited number of pitches so is small and quiet. The centre is a long way from the road and the site is next to an orchard, surrounded by horses grazing in the fields.

If you'd like to try horse riding, lessons can be booked for children's beginners' sessions on arrival - the owners will go very gently if you're a complete beginner, and riding can be booked for ages five and up.

Amenities include toilets and a modern shower room with heating. There's also a washing machine and tumble drying facilities available for guests' use for a small extra charge.

The site has free wifi.

Very polite and helpful Staff and owner (Sharon), nothing was a problem when we had some questions. Very quiet and peaceful. We were self-sufficient so cannot comment on the amenities (though they did look clean when we were showed where they were). It is a perfect site if you really want to relax and watch the world go by........... Ps we are younger than a mature couple but more mature than a young couple!!! Unfortunately pitch up only give you the option of Young or Mature ... nothing inbetween........😁

Track leading to site should be levelled out it's disgusting if you don't have a 4x4 take great care ! Toilet block is very outdated the shower is in the laundry room

From the manager...

There had been exceptionally heavy rain which had caused the entrance drive to become flooded. it is a long farm track - perfectly usual for the rural location.
It's great that such a small site has facilities to do laundry :)

We had a lovely time at Bardwell, the pitch we had was well looked after and out of the way, the amenities could do with a bit of an update but we enjoyed our stay, the staff were very helpful and friendly. Enjoyed seeing the horses in the fields and the children having lessons, yes we would go back to stay again.
