General

  • Small, 'clothes-optional', naturist-friendly site
  • In the pretty village of Weybourne

Bolding Way Holidays is located in the pretty village of Weybourne, on the north Norfolk coastline, close to the towns of Sheringham and Holt. The site is just a 12-minute walk to the shingle beach. The campsite is in a superbly secluded location with attractive surroundings with view of the windmill and church tower and within easy walking distance of the sea, pub and shop.

This is a small 'clothes-optional' site (not a naturist site, but naturist friendly). Nudity may be encountered at any time on the site, depending on the weather.

A selection of barbecues, from small to very large depending on the size of your party, are available, as are charcoal and small disposable barbecues (extra cost).

A new block was installed in 2014 with four showers, toilets, three hand basins, two washing-up sinks and a games room with pool table, along with board games and book library. Facilities include an outside tap for filling your own kettles, another for washing down the dog or your boots and a pétanque court.

Anyone on to this clothes optional site is welcome including well-behaved dogs.

The owners run a small holding on the site, so free range eggs are normally available.

First time to the site and stayed in the green Yurt, also a new experience. The Yurts are well fitted out with everything you will need, and in their own private setting screened off by bamboo hedges from the other campers. The site is clean, not too big and was nice and quiet, even though busy while I was there and the owners and other campers were very friendly. Great for switching off and dropping out of the rat race for bit. Village shop is walkable for supplies and the pub also does hot meals at a reasonable price. Will be back and would highly recommend it.
Signs are easy to miss, but take note of instructions sent out prior to your visit and you won't go wrong,

WiFi is available at a very reasonable price and is very reliable

Location is great, the site is level, well kept and the facilities are great. There is a paddock for dog walking, no caravans on site so pitches are spacious. The yurts are private so do not affect camping. Not being a naturist myself was of no consequence as I found the other people on the site friendly including the owner and it was very relaxing and I would recommend the campsite to all ages. I'd happily return.

    Disliked:

If I could suggest anything it would only be a waste bin for dog waste in the dog walking field - that's all.

The no pressure atmosphere from the staff and fellow campers. It gave me the confidence to try naturism for the first time. The hot tub was excellent too.

    Disliked:

The signage from the main road to the site - it's very easy to over look and miss the turn.

  • Liked:

We stayed in a yurt which was fabulous with a private garden so although the site was clothes optional, if you aren't keen on going naked, you had the privacy of your own garden. The facilities were excellent, very clean toilet and shower block, with hot running water whenever you needed it. The site itself was located where there are lots of things to do both in and around the village of Weybourne. The owner, Charlie, was very friendly and made you feel very welcome. I would thoroughly recommend this site and look forward to returning,

    Disliked:

The only complaint I had was that on the last evening another person staying in a yurt had their music on quite loudly, which when you are relaxing wasn't to my liking.

From the manager...

Glad you enjoyed the Yurt, we love them too! Sorry about the music, but some people forget how thin the canvas is! Look forward to seeing you again. And thanks for doing a review

Directions

If you're coming from the M11, aim for Norwich (A11) but then follow signs for Swaffham & Cromer A1065.

If you're coming via Norwich, aim for the airport, and then take the Cromer Road A140 till you reach Roughton.
At Roughton turn left onto the B1436 for Sheringham. The next main road you get to will be the A148: turn left for Sheringham, and stay on this road till you reach Bodham. Go through Bodham and it’s the first turning on the right, signposted eggs and potatoes, called Gypsies Lane. At the end of this road turn right, you will see the church straight-ahead: turn left at the church. Go past the village shop and you will see the Maltings Hotel on your right. Bolding Way is 80 yards up the hill on your left.

If you are coming via Fakenham (Swaffham or Kings Lynn), take the A148 to Holt. Follow the signs for Cromer A148 (if you want to miss the town centre). Turn left at the roundabout (A148): this will take you on to the Holt bypass. The turning for Weybourne is the third on the left (the second is signposted North Norfolk Railway): this turning is a very sharp left bend and called Bridge Road. Turn right at the next junction for Weybourne. Pass Emcy garden centre and you will reach the village. You will now see a church straight ahead. Turn left, go past the village shop and you will see the Maltings Hotel on your right, Bolding Way is 80 yards up the hill on the left.

If you are coming via Cromer on the scenic coast road A149, go through East and West Runton, Beeston Regis and Sheringham, and stay on the A149 till you reach Weybourne. Remain on the A149, go past the church and village shop and you will see the Maltings Hotel on your right. Bolding Way is 80 yards up the hill on the left.

By bus, arrive at Sheringham or Cromer and catch the Coast Hopper to Weybourne.

By train arrive at Sheringham and catch the Coast Hopper or take a taxi.

Local attractions

With a sunny south outlook, this location is perfect for relaxing and unwinding, soak up the summer sun by day and by evening enjoy gazing up at the stars while keeping warm by the brazier or campfire and enjoying a barbeque (north Norfolk night skies are full of stars-no light pollution).

- Sheringham; a seaside town has all the small shops you want from an award winning butcher for the burgers to an ironmongers for the barbecue.

- Holt is a historic Georgian market town, and terminus for the steam railway.

- Weybourne has a shingle beach with good fishing and scuba diving. There is also course fishing nearby, and bike hire is available in Holt and Sheringham.

- Several National Trust and English Heritage properties.
