  • Farm site bordering a small lake with views over the Malvern Hills
  • A 30-minute walk along the river to Worcester town centre
  • Firepits, common room and kitchen; farm café and restaurant on site
Wandering around Worcester on a weekend away just got a lot more convenient thanks to the slick units at Worcester Glamping… from this site on an early-20th-century dairy farm it's just a 30-minute walk along the River Severn into the centre of the cathedral city. Swish accommodation at the park comes with a woodburner, electric lighting and a socket for charging up your phone after wearing it down taking pics of the epic views over the Malvern Hills and pretty pastures filled with the farm’s herd of 240 Holstein Friesian cows… Other facilities include firepits for snuggling up under the stars on one of the picnic benches scattered around the grounds and a communal wet weather room to shelter from any downpours. When the sun’s beaming down, make the most of it by sprawling out beside the small oxbow lake bordering the park or organise games on the grass paddock; if that gets you hungry, a pub serving breakfast and carveries is at the entrance to the farm about 200 metres away. The park also has its own Mediterranean restaurant and a dog-friendly café with a play area where you can buy breakfasts, lunches, ice creams and milkshakes made from the farm's own milk. For home cooking, a kitchen with a sink, fridge and tea-making bits and bobs is on site. Also at this Worcestershire park are a shower block, washing up sink and a function room.

Liked: Fabulous new yurt. Great beds. Good location. Wonderfully comfortable. Very central to the town, good travel links. Good cafe in site with goats and playground.

Disliked: Stove was not operational until our 3rd night. Road noise & refrigeration noise from nearby premises mean it’s not rural or quiet if you’re looking for that sort of location.

Liked: Site had lots of space for kids to play ball games and we felt safe to let them play. Bell tent had everything we needed inside for our 2 night stay the log burner kept us warm at night.

Disliked: The light in the ladies toilets/showers didn’t work throughout our stay which resulted in me and my children having to use the disabled toilet. Cleanliness in the toilet block wasn’t the best, no where to put clean clothes when taking a shower, lots of cobwebs and dirty floor throughout stay.

Local attractions

Decent transport links from the site – which is around a five-minute drive to the M5 – mean there are tons of day trips to pick from when staying here. Worcester is of course the smart place to start, for admiring the 12th-century cathedral and old Tudor buildings like the Commandery civil war museum. For days out in the countryside, the Malvern Hills are 15 minutes by car (or a little longer on the number 44 bus running from outside the pub just outside the site) for walks – ask at the park about copies of maps and walking routes for easy navigation. To sit and chug along on a heritage train instead of stretching your legs, the Severn Valley Railway is half an hour north for rides between Kidderminster and Bridgnorth along the river. Got the kids with you? Make tracks to West Midland Safari Park afterwards for a four-mile drive-through experience past some of the 165 exotic species who call this space their home.
