  • Riverside suntrap in the Severn valley
  • River Severn fishing rights included on site
  • A short riverside stroll from Stourport-on-Severn
Popular, pretty, in a riverside suntrap in the spectacular Severn Valley and with its own Severn fishing rights… one could lock oneself away here for some considerable time. Lincomb Lock Caravan Park is next to the lock on the River Severn that gives the park its name and is protected by a sandstone escarpment sheltering the site from cooler weather: suntan seekers, this is the place for you. It's all a placid riverside stroll from the canal town of Stourport-on-Severn and near fathoms of fishing opps on the nearby river and pools; the park also has its own River Severn fishing rights for those angling to land roach, bream, perch, chub, carp, barbel and more slippery sorts. (For other activities, Glades Leisure Centre and Shatterford Fishery are within easy driving distance of Lincomb Lock Caravan Park, or ask the staff about the many options for outdoor pursuits in the area like horse riding, mountain biking and golf.) The spotless park amenities at Lincomb Lock include separate bathrooms each with shower, sink and toilet; a meadow with pond is on site for picnics and general sunbathing/lazing about. Please note that that Lincomb Lock operates an adults-only policy on its touring and camping field and no-one under the age of 16 may stay on this part of the park.

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked: Nothing, we left a paid day early, just to get home.

Disliked: Lacked wifi, so unable to contact family, as usual on Saturday, despite wifi being on my list of requirements when booking sites, I read wifi was there. No facilities, though aware there would be no heating in them, they were inaccessible for me. Disabled unfriendly. Even using the chocks the pitch was unlevel, meaning a bad night sleep. All in all, there was nothing for us on this site, no facilities at all.

From the manager: Thank you, Caryl, for taking the time to leave us a review, although we regret to read that the park was not what you had in mind. On our Pitchup page we detail that the park is peaceful, full of nature and tranquillity with beautiful surroundings, walks and wildlife. The facilities that we offer for a relaxing and comfortable stay are; clean and tidy washrooms (heaters will be installed very soon), pot wash, elsan, along with fresh water, grey waste drain and electric on all touring pitches. Our park does not offer disabled or Wi-Fi facilities - this is detailed on our Pitchup page. It is unfortunate that you had a disturbed night’s sleep, we would have been willing to help you level your campervan or moved you to an available pitch of your choosing, if you had informed us. As you will see on photos of our touring pitches, our pitches are almost all level. Wishing you all the very best From Zoë, John and the Lincomb Team

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked: Location of site, nice and quiet, away from main road. Walking distance to town, some lovely walks in the area.

Disliked: Only minor niggle, no heating in shower/toilet blocks. Don’t get me wrong, the facilities were immaculate and the showers were fabulous. We visited end March, so weather not brilliant and a little heat in the facilities would have been nice.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you Cherryl for your review and wonderful pictures. We are having heaters installed in the very near future so on your next visit the washrooms will be a little warmer. We look forward to seeing you again soon. Wishing you all the very best from Zoë, John and the Lincomb team

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked: The grounds in the park and the set up of the pitches were spotless and beautifully managed. The toilets and showers were always spotless too. Staff were polite and helpful. The location was easy to find but tucked away from roads so was quiet with a lot of birdsong. The washing up facilities are the best I've ever seen

Disliked: If I had to be picky, I would say the toilet block was cold and you have to press a timed button to get the showers to work. The amount of time this gives was only around 15 seconds so could do with adjustment. The showers were hot and powerful though. The lighting in the toilet block was also automatic and timed. The lights went out when I had my shower but luckily this was during the day. If it had been at night I would have been in complete darkness until I was decent enough to open the door and make the lights come back on. There was also no WIFI. This said I would still definitely return

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your wonderful comments and 10/10 review. The wash rooms are a little chilly at this time of year as they are not heated, hopefully the lovely hot water made up for it. We look forward to seeing you again soon. Wishing you all the very best from Zoë, John and the Lincomb team

Local attractions

Stroll along the canal to the town of Stourport-on-Severn (and past moored boats that will make you seethe/weep with envy) for shops, restaurants and a riverside recreation area with pleasure rides, crazy golf, bowling, putting greens and self-drive boats. Stourport was once a thriving inland port, and the Stourport Canal Basins tell the tale of their heyday in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. They've recently been restored and now have pubs, cafés and restaurants to sup in and watch the boats going through the locks, as well as their five basins with listed houses and warehouses alongside around a hundred narrowboats and yachts. Also nearby for heritage hunters are the Severn Valley Railway, Bewdley Working Museum, Hartlebury Castle (with the Worcestershire County Museum), Witley Court and Harvington Hall. Ancientness of a natural sort is highly recommended at Wyre Forest, while wildlife hunters can trek around the West Midlands Safari Park for over 165 species, a safari drivethrough and a theme park.
