General

  • Award-winning park on the River Severn
  • Wildlife haven: nature pools, bird and bat boxes and over 2000 trees
  • Fishing and boat slipway available from site

This sumptuous River Severn site has landed many awards in its illustrious history – including for wildlife cultivation, conservation and loos you could probably eat your dinner off (note: don't try this at home). It's all most pretty too, set in an easily level 65 acres around a seventeenth century manor, a short riverside stroll from Worcestershire's canal town of Stourport-on-Severn.

The easily level terrain at Lickhill Manor Caravan Park has an abundance of wildlife around several carefully developed habitats, bird and bat boxes, wildlife pools with waterfowl afloat and over 2000 specially planted trees and shrubs, including many among its pitches to give guests privacy and space.

Or might you fancy some fishing? Lickhill Manor has its own three-quarter of a mile stretch of the River Severn with half a mile set aside from which to cast off its specially constructed platforms for perch, roach, barbel, chubb and tench; bring your own licence and pick up a site fishing permit at reception. Or might you fancy some boating? A slipway to launch small craft is on this part of the river too.

Water points, drainage facilities and wifi are all available, as well as washing-up facilities and an ice-pack freezer. The award-winning ablutions (always highly palatable to Pitchuppers, we know) are heated throughout, with free hot water, free use of hairdryers, private cubicles and a disabled washroom including a wheelchair shower with seat, emergency alarm pulls and lever-operated taps.

Staff were helpful and welcoming, we were near the play area meaning we could monitor our children but give them “campsite freedom” knowing they were safe. We had a hard standing pitch which included its own tap and had plenty of space. We had a late stay too which was easily accommodated by the managers

    Disliked:

The football area is great but older kids kicking the ball over the top of the high fence purposely to hit cars and making noise after 9:30pm wasn’t great. May just have been that weekend. Royal wedding and FA cup weekend, some organised activities might have been fun.

Whats not to like ? Our fifth visit and thankfully nothing has changed. The grounds are superb, the staff are the most helpful we have ever come across, the facilities are extremely well maintained and the pitches are quite generous.
One night there was a noisy party on the seasonal pitches and the staff were very quick to quieten the problem....just wish they could do the same for the mechanical woodpecker, some distance off, that seems to kick off at about 8.00am !
We originally booked for 7 days but enjoyed it so much we booked for another 2 days. We had our 2.5 yr old grandson stay with us for 3 days and because he loves being outdoors he had a whale of a time...we were exhausted!. The bird life is incredible and the sites efforts to encourage wild-life is amazing and to be commended. If you do want to visit dont forget that a gentle 30-40 min stroll along the river Severn pathway brings you into Stourport on Severn...plenty of shops and a couple of decent pubs as well as a funfair....gave that a miss...but the history of the town was worth the stroll. A short drive away is Bewdley....worth a visit. We left Lickhill Manor this morning at about 11.00 am and the last thing we did was book again for our next visit in 2 months time.

The site was beautiful with landscaped grounds, ponds, fountains, swans and friendly ducks. Managers very friendly and helpful. Site extremly clean and kept to a very high standard. Book between Sunday to Thursday if you want a quieter stay.

    Disliked:

Pitches felt very close to each other when full. It is noisy at weekends although the rally finished at 11 pm prompt, there is no control over outside venues, like a wedding reception on the local farm. The site managers did what they could.

From the manager...

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review.
We take much pride in hearing the appreciation from our guests that they had such a lovely stay on the park.

We consistently keep to a strict policy in regards to any noise on the park. We can only apologise for the farm opposite hosting a wedding reception, this is not a regular occurrence. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do about external noise off the grounds of the park. We can only suggest for your future stay is to be pitched on our Touring side of the park opposed to the Riverside, as this backs onto the woods.
Look forward to seeing you again.
Kind regards,
Team Lickhill.

Local attractions

Lickhill Manor Caravan Park is a short walk along the river to the canal town of Stourport-on-Severn; if you're not one of those lucky lucky sorts to have brought your own boat, meander here lickety split for canal trips, steamer cruises, amusements, heritage wanders and more at Stourport Riverside and Stourport Canal Basins: the Severn is the UK's longest river so we reckon you'll find something to get your whistle whetted.

Elsewhere, this Worcestershire wildlife haven is a most convenient locale for other adventures, like a whopping total of 11 nearby fishing pools and the West Midlands Safari Park (or, a spiffing idea, combining fishing with critters at the Shatterford Lakes Wildlife Sanctuary & Fishery).

Two most interesting museums are in the vicinity: the award-winning Black Country Living Museum at Dudley, 26 acres with 80,000 items in its collection (and tram rides), and the Bewdley Museum, coming with resident craftspeople and loads of local artefacts.

The 16-mile trip of the Severn Valley Railway is also a topping option as a heritage highlight, as are Hartlebury Castle and Worcester Cathedral within easy driving distance.

If the kids like the West Midlands Safari Park, take them to feed the deer at Rays Farm just over the border at Brignorth in Shropshire; here there be llamas, alpacas, donkeys, micro pigs, rabbits and 25 owls too. And all ages will like a wander in nearby Wyre Forest, where there's also a Go Ape! for those feeling energetic.
