General

  • Award-winning park on the River Severn
  • Wildlife haven: nature pools, bird and bat boxes and over 2000 trees
  • Fishing and boat slipway available from site

This sumptuous River Severn site has landed many awards in its illustrious history – including for wildlife cultivation, conservation and loos you could probably eat your dinner off (note: don't try this at home). It's all most pretty too, set in an easily level 65 acres around a seventeenth century manor, a short riverside stroll from Worcestershire's canal town of Stourport-on-Severn.

The easily level terrain at Lickhill Manor Caravan Park has an abundance of wildlife around several carefully developed habitats, bird and bat boxes, wildlife pools with waterfowl afloat and over 2000 specially planted trees and shrubs, including many among its pitches to give guests privacy and space.

Or might you fancy some fishing? Lickhill Manor has its own three-quarter of a mile stretch of the River Severn with half a mile set aside from which to cast off its specially constructed platforms for perch, roach, barbel, chubb and tench; bring your own licence and pick up a site fishing permit at reception. Or might you fancy some boating? A slipway to launch small craft is on this part of the river too.

Water points, drainage facilities and wifi are all available, as well as washing-up facilities and an ice-pack freezer. The award-winning ablutions (always highly palatable to Pitchuppers, we know) are heated throughout, with free hot water, free use of hairdryers, private cubicles and a disabled washroom including a wheelchair shower with seat, emergency alarm pulls and lever-operated taps.

Pretty much everything, would have been better if the weather was nicer.
Good sized pitches with decent size gravel not that horrible pea gravel that gets everywhere.
Lovely showers and toilets, immaculately kept.
    Happy and helpful wardens.

    Disliked:

    Nothing.

Thank you for posting a review.
We are glad that you have experienced a lovely stay and enjoyed the area and the great facilities we have to offer. Yes the weather has changed dramatically and summer seems so far away. On the bright side you are making the most of using your caravan, don't let the weather stop you from joining us again soon.

    Lovely site with level pitches.
    Friendly staff
We enjoyed walking around the site and along the river to Stourport on Severn
My wife loved feeding the ducks and the robin who used my towbar as his perch for the week.
On the whole the site was lovely and we will definitely be booking again.

    Disliked:

Push button showers were a bit of a pain as only ran for 10 to 20 seconds and then button had to be pressed again.
Toilets and showers were clean but sometimes smelled a bit when you first walked in.
None of these were big issues but we thought we needed to mention it and it would not detract us from returning.

From the manager...

Thank you for your review. love the photo of the riverside.
We are glad that you enjoyed a pleasant stay with us here. In addition of your stay it was nice to hear that you had ventured along the river path and in to the local town of Stourport.
The variety of wildlife have made a home here, which we all can reap the benefits of.
Our washrooms have again been awarded the Platinum Loo of the Year Award. We also have Gold David Bellamy Conservation award. Which we have a water saving policy around the park also that in our washrooms we have the push buttons consequently to save water. Sorry this was an inconvenience to you. A bit of a nuisance having a blocked drain, with items not meant for being flushed down toilets. But now smelling of roses. Thank you for mentioning it.
Look forward to your next visit.
Kind regards

Shut up & put up or leave kind of customer service - noise pollution++ 03/11/2017

  • Liked:

Setting lovely but no use if the peace is shattered all day long by industrial machine noise

    Disliked:

8 hours (9-5) of chainsaws, leaf blower and tractor none stop in the touring area
Poor attitude of the manager when we asked them to move away from our pitch at 4pm after they had been there all day
Poor attitude of workman who blew leaves onto our awning and mowed over our guy rope after we asked politely if he could go to another area as we were trying to relax.

From the manager...

Having a beautiful working park, with clean gravel pitches and roads which are in high demand, it is unfortunate for the noise that the staff are working hard to maintain clearing the leaves so we can enjoy the surroundings. Mother nature is a hard task to keep on top of. With the felling of the tall trees is a must for the safety of all.

Upon arrival and due to the time of the year and the site not being full. We were asked if we had children, which we did and we're offered a pitch right by the park, which was perfect for us so that we could keep an eye on our children from our caravan.
The site was beautifully kept with staff around clearing leaves etc.
The toilet and shower facilities were immaculate with a perfect temperature of water too. I was very impressed.
The staff we dealt with were all very helpful and friendly. Would definatley revisit this site, but shall wait for the warmer weather :)

Local attractions

Lickhill Manor Caravan Park is a short walk along the river to the canal town of Stourport-on-Severn; if you're not one of those lucky lucky sorts to have brought your own boat, meander here lickety split for canal trips, steamer cruises, amusements, heritage wanders and more at Stourport Riverside and Stourport Canal Basins: the Severn is the UK's longest river so we reckon you'll find something to get your whistle whetted.

Elsewhere, this Worcestershire wildlife haven is a most convenient locale for other adventures, like a whopping total of 11 nearby fishing pools and the West Midlands Safari Park (or, a spiffing idea, combining fishing with critters at the Shatterford Lakes Wildlife Sanctuary & Fishery).

Two most interesting museums are in the vicinity: the award-winning Black Country Living Museum at Dudley, 26 acres with 80,000 items in its collection (and tram rides), and the Bewdley Museum, coming with resident craftspeople and loads of local artefacts.

The 16-mile trip of the Severn Valley Railway is also a topping option as a heritage highlight, as are Hartlebury Castle and Worcester Cathedral within easy driving distance.

If the kids like the West Midlands Safari Park, take them to feed the deer at Rays Farm just over the border at Brignorth in Shropshire; here there be llamas, alpacas, donkeys, micro pigs, rabbits and 25 owls too. And all ages will like a wander in nearby Wyre Forest, where there's also a Go Ape! for those feeling energetic.
