General

  • Luxury yurts in a spectacular setting near ancient Wyre Forest
  • On 130 acres of farmland to explore
  • Private flushing toilet, shower and kitchen facilities

There are reasons why guests have been going into rhapsodies about the attention to detail and the accommodation at Silligrove Farm Yurts between Bewdley and Cleobury Mortimer – and the reasons they are many.

Run by friendly and welcoming Jan and David, this small farm site has luxury yurts set up in a woodland location, all set far enough from each other to give all guests peace and privacy. Stabling your own horse is possible on site depending on availability.

When the owners here say the yurts are luxury, they mean it: they're equipped with everything you'd need to stay for weeks, from full kitchen kit, crockery and gas stoves, to board games, books and jigsaw puzzles – all in a space cutely kitted out with colourful furniture, rugs and candles.

A flushing toilet and shower sink are individual to each yurt, as are a barbecue and a cool box, plenty of chairs, sun loungers and a picnic table. Each also has a firepit.

All is set on 130 acres of Worcestershire farmland which yurters are welcome to tramp and explore, along with the many bridle paths in the vicinity: the fifteenth-century farmstead with tennis court on site also has a livery yard where you can stable your own horse. A coarse fishery is just across the road from the farm.

And finally, the food. If you decide you don't want a barbecue or some campfire cooking, several scrumptious places to eat are easily accessible locally, including a Chinese thoroughly recommended by David and Jan, and a pub specialising in hot and tasty pies.

Wonderful, quiet secluded pitches with everything you could need 11/06/2018

Everything! From the drop off right at the 'door' of Dinglebell Bell tent so no lugging of all our belongings to the relaxing around the large firepit before heading to our amazingly comfortable and cosy beds in the wonderfully laid out bell tent.

This is a fantastic site for relaxing and seclusion. You can barely see the other handful of yurts and tents round this beautiful rolling meadow, so you really feel like you have it to yourself. Everything you could need is supplied, a cosy tent with beanbags, tealights, books, jigsaws and local info as well a fully equipped kitchen tent and toilet tent. All for your own use. There was also an immaculate shower room by the farmhouse for our use too.

Each pitch has a large area just for you with chairs, picnic table and logs, even a bbq is supplied with charcoal for your first use. The surrounding area is beautiful too, with lots of woodland walks to enjoy. 2 nights wasn't enough for us, so we will be back and highly recommend others to try!

The farm is just fantastic. Picturesque and surrounded by beautiful woodland. We were greeted by our hosts who were very welcoming and lovely and dropped us down to the tent in the back of the van, which was great fun. The tent was more than we could have hoped for, finished beautifully right down to the last detail. We had everything we needed and more, cooking steak and lamb in the huge fire pit. The weather was biblical one night but the tent was snug as anything. We will be back.

I cant emphasise enough how amazing this place is. The area in which the yurt sits is beautiful and private, if you're wanting to feel like you're in the middle of no where you won't be disappointed! Jan and David really went out of their way to help us and the yurt has everything you need and more. There was a bottle of wine and home made cupcakes upon arrival and they provided us with more wood on the secound night, and even offered us wellies as we forgot ours! Such friendly people, I hope we get the chance to re-visit in the summer.

    Absolutely amazing experience
Just came back as a family of 5 with 3 children aged 10 ,6 and 2. We we're greeted by Dave, jan and Derk all really excited to see us and couldn't do enough!
Jans home made cakes and wine went down a treat and after travelling for 3 hours was really appreciated.
Dave took us to are woodland yert in his tractor which the 3 children traveled in the back.
The yert was roasting hot even last weekend in October and stayed that way in even a 4 degree coldness.
The shower was warm and kitchen well equipt.
We heard deer all night long as well as other wild life.
As city people from Liverpool are children are used to city life, tv , Netflix , you tube and phones being back to basics was great .
All over great experience will be booking to go back soon. Thank you xxx

We loved EVERYTHING about our stay in the Bluebell Yurt. We had a very friendly welcome and everyone was very helpful. Everything was thought of; the beds freshly made up ready, clean towels, all the cooking equipment you could possibly need for camping.
It was really nice to have a properly dug out fire pit instead of using the inside of a car wheel :) And the shower and toilets were right next to the yurt so no trekking across a field in the middle of the night.
We cannot wait to come back.

Local attractions

Right to hand are the farm wanders and the nearby bridle paths, the coarse fishery (and air rifle range) across the road, and more fishing pools a mile from base.

There's easy access to ancient Wyre Forest too via footpaths starting from the farm woodland to access the forest trails by foot or bike; once you're forestwards, make for the visitor centre to learn the history of all things wood or to zip across the trees on the zipwire of Go Ape.

Golfers will love the 27-hole golf course at Cleobury and the 18-hole in the nearby Georgian town of Bewdley which also has the famous West Midland Safari Park and the Severn Valley Railway.

Sixteen miles away on the Welsh Marches is Ludlow, the handsome market town with a medieval castle and, these days, quite the far-ranging reputation for food.
