Campsites in Birmingham, West Midlands

10 bookable campsites within 15 miles of Birmingham Sorted by distance

We could go on for many many paragraphs re our favouritest facts about Britain’s second most populous city – the 571 parks (more than any other city in Europe), more canals than Venice, over a dozen theatres, and (cough) the annual scifi convention Novacon. But we’ll settle for these to start: JRR Tolkien grew up here, and the members of Black Sabbath, Judas Priest and one half of Led Zeppelin are among the many musical maestros to come from Brum; rock on. Soak up some live music at the NIC, Hippodrome or the venues of Digbeth on your visit: one cannot really say one has been to Birmingham unless one has attended a gig or concert there. (Live music at a Birmingham campsite afterwards is entirely up to you.)

We have the art galleries, museums, nightclubs and shopping in the Jewellery Quarter to rattle on about too, but will quickly add that camping in Birmingham is also to have the Lickey Hills, Clent Hills and Walton Hill to hand south-west of the city to tramp around; climb up Beacon Hill in the Lickeys to see a splendid city view.
