General

  • Glamping site with a wild feel and views of hills and countryside
  • A 20-minute drive to Stratford-upon-Avon and Royal Leamington Spa
  • Each tent is powered; set in a wildlife haven with walks nearby

For a happy medium between back-to-basics camping and a premium getaway, have a hol at Wild Glamping Campsite. This park is made up of a group of handmade bell tents overlooking hills and countryside – book just the one for your family and friends or grab them all and get the whole secluded site to yourself.

With extras on offer, from double mattress upgrades to prosecco delivered in an ice bucket, you can stick to the simple life or go all out on luxury.

Whichever sort of trip you’re after, the surroundings are a highlight here. Lope through the long grass on the lookout for the various creatures that call the rural area home or head a little further afield – there are plenty of local walks to be had, including to Compton Verney House and Art Gallery (half an hour on foot).

Potter to pubs and restaurants in local villages too or drive to destinations like the National Trust’s Charlecote Park (10 minutes) and have history-themed days out. The site is also 20 minutes from Shakespeare’s birthplace of Stratford-upon-Avon and the striking architecture of Royal Leamington Spa.

Each tent at the park has electricity – so you can keep your gadgets charged up – and there are shared male and female toilet facilities.

Lovely setting-the most beautiful view! The bell tent was massive with lots of room for the 5 of us! Easy to find and was met by the owner. Communal areas for eating and fridge freezers were clean and nothing was too much trouble-fire pits to share and logs provided for a little extra!

Pretty much everything, the campsite was beautiful overlooking a wildflower meadow and lake with a beautiful little woods at the bottom of the field. The kids loved the sheep and there was lots of room for them to play in the campsite. Fire pits were great too.

    Disliked:

It would have been nice to have had a shower but not having one in no way lessened the experience and the fun we had.

We had a great time at Wild Glamping Campsite. We met and shown around by our friendly host. The bell tent was furnished homey with pillows and bedside tables and lamps and lit with fairy lights. There were fridges and freezers which were a very welcome addition as it was quite hot. The entire site had electricity which added a nice touch. We we're able to charge the phones, and torches etc. The scenery was absolutely stunning and the walks were beautiful. I could go on about how lovely it was. There isn't really much bad to say to be honest, but if I need to be totally honest, the bell tents are a little close to each other for our personal liking. We happened to be the only family there that night so it was fine, but if it was a full site I think I would have liked more privacy between the tents. But despite that we were extremely happy campers and would happily go back anytime. Thank you Wild Glamping!!

Local attractions

Sold on stately homes? Head to Charlecote Park (10 minutes’ drive) to check out the National Trust-protected 16th-century country house circled by a deer park and factor in some time for roams on the River Avon. Or investigate the impressive private art collection in Upton House and Gardens, yet another of the area’s eye-catching aristocratic mansions (15 minutes).

If top towns are more your thing, roam around Royal Leamington Spa or the nearby Stratford-upon-Avon (both 20 minutes). The former has the 19th-century colonnade-lined Royal Pump Rooms spa to gaze at, while the latter is known as Shakespeare’s birthplace.

More of a car fan than a history buff? Speed over to the British Motor Museum (15 minutes) and eye up the world’s biggest collection of classic cars from across the UK, numbering more than 300.

Alternatively, seek out small settlements like Moreton-in-Marsh, one of the Cotswolds’ tiny honey-coloured villages (35 minutes), in a pristine area of outstanding natural beauty. If you need to make a trip into a larger city, the centre of Birmingham is a 45-minute drive.
