- Family-run Warwickshire farm
- A few miles from Royal Leamington Spa and six from Warwick Castle
- Licensed farm shop and café on site
Retreat! Retreat! If this is your usual cry when finishing work for the day and/or elbowing fellow commuters on a jammed city train, you'll surely like secreting yourself away in the Warwickshire hills for a spot of glamping at Hilltop Hideaways.
Both the location and the accommodation here are pretty smashing: Hilltop Hideaways is set high up with countryside views for miles around, a few miles from Royal Leamington Spa and close to Warwick, Stratford-upon-Avon and the Cotswolds (prepare to snap many shots, for the sunsets are pretty smashing too).
The site has well-kept toilets and showers a short walk from the accommodation, and a licensed café and farm shop serving breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and evening sups at the bar drinking in the hillside views.
Hilltop Hideaways is a third-generation family farm, so expect to see farm animals as well as a most friendly sheepdog happy to play with those who want it; the welcoming team can also offer farm tours or point glampers in the right direction of the many riverside and countryside walks leading straight from the site.

Local attractions
Hilltop Hideaways is remote enough for sitting peaceably watching the sunsets and stars or gazing at the local scenery, but it's a quick drive to many top UK visitor spots for attractions and activities too: Warwick is about 10 minutes' drive away, Stratford-upon-Avon 25 and the Cotswolds within about 30.
By foot, wander down from the site to the River Leam or down the farmland to the village of Hunningham – 17th-century pub the Red Lion is a rightly popular place for visitors and locals – and from here there's an easy four and a half mile circular walk along part of the Millennium Way.
Loads more walks are in the region a mile or two further away, like the three miles from Leamington Spa to Cubbington or the walk around Leamington from the Old Saints Parish Church.
Splendid Warwick is a must for a day trip, not only for its splendid castle but for Warwick Racecourse, concerts at St Mary's and the Bridge House Theatre, and shopping each Saturday at Market Square.
Stratford-upon-Avon also has a racecourse – and, unsurprisingly, many Shakespearean attractions like Anne Hathaway's Cottage, Shakespeare's Birthplace and, also not surprisingly, bardly plays at the RSC and Globe.
In the Cotswolds – at least a couple of days here, please – adventurers have the option of outdoorsy pursuits like hiking part of the 102-mile Cotswold Way and exploring towns like Bourton-on-the-Water, Chipping Norton and Stroud, or staying under cover at one of the many stately homes and museums: have a look at William Morris's house at Kelmscott Manor, eleventh century Berkeley Castle and looking for the attic ghost at Dr Jenner's House.
