  • Pet-friendly site on 235 acres of parkland
  • Fishing lakes and summer festivals
  • Miniature train, adventure golf, bars and restaurants
What a whopper of a site. Award-winning activity and fishing centre Billing Aquadrome a couple of miles from Great Billing in Northamptonshire is set over 235 acres of green parkland and lakes, with so much to do around its grounds you'll likely want to stay put here for your entire hol. (And if you do desire to speed off somewhere? Silverstone is half an hour's drive away.) The site's setting on an aquadrome surrounded by water has it full of fishing lakes of varying sizes and depths, where avid anglers can cast off for carp and common mirror carp, catfish, pike, roach, bream, tench and rudd. Bring along your own fishing kit and up to date licence, and buy a fishing ticket from the site team if you want to try your fishy luck. Away from the water, the many other on-site options include a miniature train, funfair, amusements arcade and adventure golf to keep all entertained. Summer sees the park buzzing with festivals, displays and special events around the grounds and in the bars and restaurants (yes, plural, plus a beer garden) as evening falls. The bar, beer garden and restaurant are all adults-only from 10pm. And speaking of the essentials... as well as the beer garden, bars and restaurants, there are takeaways, a supermarket and shops right on site too, as well as picnic areas, Sky Sports and – if you need your barnet tamed after all that activity – a hairdresser's too.

Shelduck (area 4) electric grass pitch

Liked: Stayed for new year's party 2 nights Was good fun at the party brilliant entertainment. Unfortunately didn't get to use the pool. The toilets and showers are definitely past their best need more regular cleaning and in need of a revamp. The pitches are big but could do with some hardstanding for the winter as it turns into a mud bath. Sure it's great for summer.

Liked: Tite as a whole is brilliant, the venue and facilities within it were great The venue staff were great

Disliked: Two ladies on reception One was Debbie who was fine not sure of the other lady her attitude was appalling and everything was and issue or an effort the site could do with some hard standing pitches The toilet block was pretty disgusting

Shelduck (area 3) electric grass pitch

Liked: Kids enjoyed the arcades and the swimming pool and the food from the venue was good although a bit expensive.

Disliked: Toilets were very messy and showers were not heat adjustable and were actually too hot for my children to stand under. The site is looking very dated and could do with a refresh.

Shelduck (area 3) electric grass pitch

Liked: Great location for a quick break away, facilities for camping/touring good. Easy check in. Great spaces Great for a cheeky night or two.

Disliked: The overall place needs updating as nothing really there anymore other than statics and residents rather than the good old holiday park it used to be. Roads very busy due to it being more residential.

Shelduck (area 2) non-electric grass pitch

Liked: The large grass pitches were spacious, the venue bar did takeaways, good facilities. Toilets and showers were clean.

Disliked: Site is close to main road, so traffic noise can be heard. Some loud music being played until midnight. Dogs are fairly restricted as they have to stay on leads at all times and not allowed into The Venue. Unfortunately there was quite alot of goose poo around.
