Been a few times now, always found a pleasant place to stay.

This visit was a bit disappointing, site looking very unkempt and untidy, and the awful sewerage/drain smell which hung around for our whole visit

Loads of outdoor space for the kids to play games. Small park. Shops, pub, cafe, activities all onsite (extra cost).
Ease of being able to turn up without having to pitch tent etc.
Reception were friendly & helpful.
Campsite was very peaceful after 10pm. Kitchen shed had pretty much everything needed, kettle, cutlery, plates, bowls, cups, pots & pans. Washing up liquid, bowl, tea towel, sponge. Also a bin liner.
Loved being able to rent firepit & buy logs & marshmallows, but wasnt cheap £22 altogether.
Tips:
Take extra pillows, blankets & solar lights.
If using showers take something suitable to wear to & from as its quite a trek to the block from the bell tents.

What really lets the site down is the facilities. They are by far the worst I have ever seen. The toilets & showers are rundown, filthy & cold. Id not want to stay more than 2 nights because of this.
The outside washing up area is appalling, not plumbed correctly so sewage water spilled out everywhere all over us, which is a health hazard!
Bins were full!
Some of the grass areas could do with a cut as the grass was quite long, above ankle height.
Very little lighting. None in the shed, small bedside lamp in the bell tent but nothing on the outside.
Air beds needed constantly topping up, both the children fell on the floor during the night due to the beds not being stable enough. Tent itself basic, very worn, front zips didnt work so couldn't close tent fully. One of the vents was ripped. Mouldy & bird poo stained. Area around tent very overgrown could do with being cut back & benchs would benefit from a clean & repaint as heavily stained from bird poo.
No fridge in kitchen so dont take anything that wont keep as the shed got very hot & stuffy even with the door open.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. There was plenty to do on site although more for families than couples.

Showers are in need of a refurb, and were very uncomfortable.
The shepherd hut is only suitable for those under 5’7 which meant we didn’t quite fit in bed! The fridge would have been better suited in the shed.

Loved our stay in the bell tent. Receptionist really helpful. Would have loved a fridge in the kitchen. Showers and toilet blocks were clean and well maintained

Very little.

On arrival at the site we were met with a graveyard of old and dirty caravans. We were allocated a concrete pitch instead of the grass pitch we had booked as they had run out of diesel for the generator which powered the hookups on the grass, which meant we were unable to put our qazebo flush against the side of our caravan. The lack of diesel also meant no site lighting. The diesel finally arrived the day before we left.
The toilet block was very old and dilapidated. The flooring was cracked everywhere and was giving way in the ladies doorway. The water in the showers was tepid. They were also not cleaned every day.
The grass desperately needed cutting, and when they did finally get the tractor out it only cut the piece by the road at about 7.30 pm.
All in all a very disappointing stay, one not to be repeated.
