The restaurant had good food at decent prices and beer was reasonable.

Everything. You are put on a huge field with grass about 10" long so nothing in the tent would stand up, it had 1 tap for drinking water and it was about 300 yards to the 1 toilet and shower block which left a lot to be desired. On arrival at the park you are asked to sign a form with the rules and regulations and on this form it states that there is no toilet paper in the toilets and you will be given one at reception, as I didn't read all of the rules and wasn't given toilet roll at reception the first time I went to use the facilities there was no toilet paper and no soap in the containers. It states on the website that they have a fully stocked shop and we couldn't even get a box of cereal.

Lovely and welcoming, very clean facilities and had a good time. A big play area for the kids.

The grass on pitch site needs cutting and maybe a freezer available to put ice packs in.

We arrived at shaw hall after reception hours. We’re greeted by bar staff who sorted us out straight away. No designated pitch which meant we were free to choose. We went near to the facilities which in hindsight was a bit to close to the entrance for noise from night time traffic. There’s a large play area for kids.
The bar atmosphere was great, entertainment great. Facilities all good.
Location good for Ormskirk and a bit further Southport.
We enjoyed our stay and would return.

As always with the facilities it’s hard to keep onto of keeping clean. But they were clean. Shop closed earlier than I’d expect.

Great location and spacious field. Playpark is excellent and in view of tent field.

Site shower blocks are dated. Due to a recent incident they aren’t putting toilet paper in there should at least have a toilet holder for own paper.
Music at the bar went on till 10:30 could hear across the field only an issue for those with younger children it was very quiet after 10:30

Shaw hall was great 👍 kids loved it and we loved it. Will 100% be back the place was fab.

Our weekend camping stay at Shaw Hall was absolutely fantastic. Plenty of space for tent pitches, peaceful with lovely scenery.

The facilities available to campers were also extremely good with hot showers and toilet block not far from the camping field and a wonderful little shop which sells essentials. The play park for children was amazing (we hardly saw our two!!) and they really, really enjoyed it. 🏰

You can access the canal side very easily, just a short walk from the pitches and through a gate which was lovely afternoon stroll with a pub at the end for refreshments and then over a little bridge to walk back on the other side of the canal.

With plenty of amenities close to the site (just a 6 minutes drive to the retail park (Aldi, B&M, etc.)) you needn't load the car up with bulky items such as food, fire wood etc, just grab it on arrival 😊

All in all Shaw Hall has been our favorite campsite with lovely staff, great amenities and in a peaceful setting, we will definitely be returning very soon.

Lovely location, clean, family friendly site with a brilliant play area for the children. Field where tents are pitched is very spacious and is a brilliant place for the children to run around and burn off some energy.

Children's disco on a Friday night and a bouncy castle was put up during the day Friday and Saturday.

Toilet/shower facilities were clean and well maintained.
