Quiet area. Walking dog park. Clean showers and toilets.

No store with local products on camping area.
Maybe in future will be very useful for all guests.

Everything! If I could give more stars I would. Camping field kept neat & tidy, large dog field. Beautiful surroundings, toilet & shower block always clean & showers always had nice hot water. Then the owners… they were fantastic, very warm and welcoming nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend, we can’t wait to book up again.

Bus stop right outside that takes you into York if you want leave the car at camp, there’s also a park and ride to lots of different place’s & fantastic value that can be accessed about 3 miles away.

Only one washing up sink, could maybe do with a couple during busier times

Spacious plot. Nicely kept grass and level field with lots of space to park and for the children to play ball games etc. Good facilities and not overcrowded so never had to wait the showers etc. Staff on site and very friendly and helpful.

Peacefully location, but also close enough lots of places of interest. Lovely hosts, facilities clean, showers hot enough.

Shower block always open, often had daddy long legs in there, which my son didn't like.

There was nothing that we dislike about the campsite

Arrival was really easy and we were sent off to our pitch in the camping field. The pitches were clearly labelled with the power points close by. Pitches are an excellent size with ample space for car etc. as well. We had a 7 man tent plus gazebo.
There's lot's of space for the kids to play. Even in the middle of the summer holidays the site wasn't rammed and the owners space the occupants out as best they can. The dog field is a game changer allowing our energetic Labrador to burn off lots of steam.
The facilities are clean and a hot shower was had every time. Only one washing up sink for camping field which would be a problem if the site was busier. It's also not under cover, we were lucky with weather but this would be unpleasant if the rain came.
The location is great, near the A64 allowing easy access to York and the North Yorkshire moors.
On departure day we asked for a slightly late departure and it was easily accommodated.

The pitch was great, there was loads of space for the kids to run around and play. The staff were lovely when we first arrived as our booking wasn’t on their system, we also had an issue with the electric hook up and they were round straight away to help us.

A very rude email that I received when we got back home trying to blame us for rubbish that was left, bbq coals left on the grass and also tried to blame us for hot coals being put in the dog waste bin in the field next to where our pitch was, even though I had spoke to the owners on 2 separate occasions about it, one in which, they clearly said it had been done before even arrived! Then tried to blame us for dog poo around our pitch, which was not our dog as we took him to the specific area for this and cleaned up after him. Also, apparently there were chicken bones left near our pitch, which is funny because we didn’t even have any chicken with us to put on the bbq. They also blamed us for rubbish around the pitch after we left even though, I had filled 2 big black bags up with rubbish and disposed it in the bins provided at the entrance.

Overall a good stay, but would never go back based on a very rude and slanderous email I received when we got back home.

Pitch was large enough for our monstrous tent! Really well spaced out so no-one was too close, which we personally like. Toilets clean & tidy & there was a smaller cabin close to the tent area, with 2 toilets & showers so didn't have to walk far to access this. We will definitely think about returning here, one of the best sites we've been on!

Washing up area was outside with no shelter above so if there was rain you'd be soaked through whilst washing up! We were so lucky with the weather so didn't bother us but a shelter overhead would easily solve problems if it rained.

Loved the space, quiet, peaceful with a lovely long safe dog walk through mature trees.
Also lived the hosts, friendly, helpful and chatty.
Loved being able to catch the bus into York from the campsite gate.
