The pitches felt very private nestled in the orchard, we were on the end pitch and felt very secluded. The orchard isn’t huge but the paths around it have been cut very cleverly to give little ones ample opportunity to explore. As the orchard itself is gated and there isn’t a road for a couple of miles our 5 year old was fine to wander off by themselves whenever they fancied.

The facilities are more than I would expect from a site of this size with a great kitchen with everything you could want in it, the washrooms were clean and one was very ample in space too (I didn’t even mind the compost loo which I thought I might - we stayed here in 30 degree heat and there were no foul smells or anything, my son LOVED the Wild Wee hay bale as well!).

Amy was very pleasant in greeting us and I would highly recommend both their burgers and apple juice. All around a very pleasant stay.

Camping in my own private area surrounded by little apple trees - lovely to have shade when it gets hot. I had my own fire-pit - cooking equipment for the fire-pit was provided in the kitchen/dining area and you could buy logs. My 5yo grand-daughter came to visit and she loved the compost loo (kept visiting it!) and all the quirky furnishings. Having no cars around makes for a completely different feel to a place - and they are not so far away - if you forget something you can go back to your car very quickly. Pitching your own tent is a very economical way to stay at Fen end farm - I brought my own stove to cook on (in the kitchen there is plenty of fridge area, plus kettle and toaster). As a lone woman traveller I felt very safe here. I left my phone on charge in the kitchen area....

It's probably the case for every camp site in early June but just a heads up that there were a few gnats around when I visited so take some anti-mozzy stuff with you. Having a fire going puts them off though.

An absolutely beautiful site with loads of lovely touches.

Great site, kids were safe and free to roam. Loved playing rounders on the airfield behind!
Fully equipped and clean kitchen.
Great pressure and temperature of the shower.

Everything, beautiful farm, super clean and great facilities! Charging point in the hut.
Really spacious.
Don’t worry about the compost toilet - I was sceptical but actually much prefer to chemical toilets!

Quite far from anything - not really anywhere easily walkable with a young family. However taxis super available from Cambridge.

We had a lovely stay at Fen End Farm. You get a choice of allocated pitch that has its own fire pit and some element of privacy as it’s in between the orchards. The facilities of shared kitchen, showers and compost toilets were great! You can also buy sausages, burgers, firewood, apple juice and cider on site which was a lovely touch. We’ll definitely visit again.

Just a thing to note is the closest shop is Coop that is a 45min walk and the nearest pub (The Chequers we didn’t like this one though was about 50min walk) so you need to bring what you need or drive to them (which is no issue and easy to - but worth noting) or a further pub we went to The Bridge was lovely on the river and a 6mile walk - so a perfect stop for a long walk day.

Nothing on the site, it was lovely.

However, our second night there was a big group who came for a childs birthday about 12 people. They all stayed around one of the bell tents so was quite loud and took over the shared kitchen facilities like it was their own leaving out their foods, dishes etc. Then took it over when it started to rain - so no space for anyone else on site to use it. This is in no way a fault of Fen End Farm and the group were friendly - more just an annoyance and could be extremely bothersome depending on who the groups are.

Wonderful quiet, secluded pitches, a very eco friendly site, toilets and showers clean and in great condition, use of the kitchen with kettles (so I didn't have to use my camping stove as much) and fridge/freezer. A nice area to wander around. I had a rabbit visit me both mornings! It was nice not having any cars near the pitches (due to the trees) and the wheelbarrow to take your stuff to the pitch was great! Fire pits on each pitch (although I didn't use mine).

Endroit magique. Le calme absolu. Les emplacements sont grands et isolés des uns des autres. Vous êtes immergés dans le verger. Aucun vis à vis. Respect de l' intimité et du silence. La cuisine couverte mise à disposition est très appréciable et très propre. Les douches et les toilettes écologiques également. Pas de voiture. vous garez votre véhicule sur une aire et des chariots sont à votre disposition pour vous installer. Tout est pensé pour que votre séjour se passe le mieux possible.

Lovely location with spacious pitches, shower and composting toilet facilities were really clean and the kitchenette was an unexpected surprise. Was great having the wild wee option for the boys as was a perfect opportunity for them to learn how to do it. Close enough to places such as Ely, Huntingdon and Cambridge for trips out to be easy enough whilst being far enough off the beaten track that we could have happily stayed on site for relaxation and off grid camping should our kids have allowed for this! Youngest in our group (2years old) had a bit of a tough time adjusting to camping as was his first time but there were no complaints from other campers or the owners so made us feel welcome as I was worried this may have been a problem. Would highly recommend!
