Beautiful peaceful retreat. Maggie was a lovely host who made sure we had what we needed. Tasty breakfast in the morning too.

Dale Head farm is set in such a tranquil an idyllic setting but yet such a central location to places of interest. It is a short journey to Whitby, such a lovely scenic route on the way.

The accommodation was spotless and very private with good amenities and lovely walk. My son was so impressed with the extra touch of home baked cookies , he loved them so much, it was the first thing he told his grandparents when we arrived home, he suggested they were the nicest ones he EVER tasted.

I would strongly recommend this as great hospitality and Maggie was indeed very knowledgeable, we went to Castle Howard non the journey home, one word "wow", well manicured gardens and great history, my son was impressed one of the statues was a replica of the one in the Vatican city. Fascinating!

We hope to return to Dale Head Farm, hopefully for longer as you have the best of both worlds, lovely setting but easy accessible to many destinations making this a good choice. We did not manage to explore the walks as there was so much to see and do.

From being warmly welcomed by Margaret with a very nice slice of cake through to the super breakfast I was treated to a superb stay in the shepherd's hut. It was warm, the bed extremely comfortable, the facilities spot on and the view stunning. I heartily recommend it.

The hut was very cozy with the log burner on and the views were amazing. The hosts were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. The cooked breakfast made by Maggie in the morning was lovely and included in the price of the stay. The dog was lovely, we wanted to take her home! We had a great over night stay and cant wait to come back.

Maggie and family were exceptionally lovely hosts. We took a bit of a wrong turn (thanks SatNav!) so took a lot longer to get there than expected but was worth it. Lovely little hut that is lovely and warm once the fire is on but was a bit chilly overnight. Maggie provided additional blankets and there was an electric heated blanket on the big bed too which we all enjoyed. Surprised by the amount of things available in the hut that we weren’t expecting; cutlery, plates, mugs, microwave, little fridge, tea, coffee, milk and even some complimentary flapjacks (delicious!).

The farm is well-placed and not far from Dalby Forest, Castle Howard and more.

Maggie is a great cook and a hot breakfast on a cold morning was very appreciated. There is a toilet/shower/big fridge and washing up area a few yards from the hut and the hot water is instant!

Was a shame about the weather, we managed to get rain, sleet, hail and wind in the space of two days but it was lovely to sit in a warm hut and play board games together away from it all. Would definitely look to return!

Everything! Even a good cooked breakfast was included at the tea rooms. Maggie the owner was so helpful and pointed out some great walks. The hut was cozy and clean. I would absolutely return!
