I liked how friendly and welcoming the campsite was. Staff were so friendly as needed to charge laptop for a work email and didn’t have electric hook-up in tor view and they charged it up for me. The food in the bar was amazing and it looked as if the staff were all one big family which is really refreshing. Any questions we had were answered within a few minutes I can’t fault the staff one bit!!

The views, the price, the pool, putting a play park in the beer garden is just genius. Absolutely loved this campsite and will 100% visit again.

Location and having a bus stop to Wells right outside the camp

Mowing of tent pitches on Sunday afternoon (with a rather noisy sit on lawn mower). I realise this has to be done but went on for what seemed ages when we were trying to relax. Lodge Bar/restaurant was closed on Sunday evening. The toilet/shower block near our pitch needs a complete modernisation or rebuild.

How it was advertised, but did not live up to the description. I think Wookey Hole Ltd need to improve this mucky hole.

On arrival we found the pitches were extremely close together. Not much space for kids to play, meaning footballs were being booted right next to the tents. The roads around the site were full of potholes that were difficult to avoid. Dangerous for the kids falling over at night as there was limited lighting. There were apparently no noise rules after 10pm but this wasn’t enforced. One particular family stayed up until after midnight shouting, not ideal if you have young kids in bed. The toilet blocks were filthy , full of spiders and cobwebs that looked like they had been in situ for years! Showers were pretty decent lots of hot water, but again the cubicles were old and tired . Some of the toilet blocks had no lighting at night. The washing up area was dirty. I didn’t even bother with the swimming pools reading the recent reviews, as we would have probably caught something. Some major improvements needed. We spent most of our time away from the site as it wasn’t very nice. No nice views just overlooked by loads of other tents and caravans. Really disappointed.

Bar and food

No one to let us in and no one answered the phone number left of office closed.
What sounded like boarding kennels close by with all the dogs barking at 5.30 on a Sunday morning

WiFi didn’t reach to camping area

Evening entertainment was good. Swimming pool and play area was good and the kids liked the animal walk on site aswell. Shop was well stocked.
