Although I have huge experience of lightweight backpacking, this was my very first experience of “wild camping” with a campervan. I had hired one for a few nights with a view to making a purchase and I wanted to put it through its paces. Bridge House Meadows is a beautiful site. Acres of meadow interspersed with swathes of wildflowers and woodland; and just metres away from the river. I loved the solitude and the peace and quiet. The whole experience has convinced me to make that purchase!

There is nothing to dislike about the site. Other than a chemical toilet and a tap (and electric hookups for those who require them), there are no other facilities. I knew this when I booked and that’s exactly why I booked.

Communication was excellent, host was lovely and very apologetic about having to cancel due to flooding, rearranged for a later date.

We were the only people there so it was nice and quiet. There was a portaloo and we were able to empty our chemical cassette in there.

The entrance was a bit messy and did not look welcoming but the field itself was well looked after.
The weeds around the electric points needed to be cut back as they were large stinging nettles.

My second stay at this site. First time on electric, second time without. This site is basic, just a porta loo and tap. It is lovely and quiet, you get a choice of pitch if not on hook up, there are 5 electric hook up pitches, the site is lovely, all grass, well maintained, close to river for walking, welcoming and friendly owner

Very quiet and pretty site. Lovely watching rabbits and woodpecker family sharing the pitch.
It's a basic site but water, electric all good and hosts very helpful. Nearby river for some simple fishing a couple of minutes walk.

Not a dislike but advice..use Google maps rather than your sat nav, it's a small lane and satnav can miss it.

This was a beautiful site , tucked out of the way. Just a toilet. No showers, but just what we wanted. Pitch where you like. We were the only campers there and it was fantastic.
