Peace, proper peace… how fab. The Old Post Office Eco Camping, 10 minutes’ drive from Pencader, is a quiet rural site that’s all set up for souls seeking a bit of serenity.

Noisy distractions are kept to a minimum here: no kids, no TVs and no radios are allowed on site, and limited mobile phone reception means you should remain refreshingly free from dinging gadgets. There is, however, a bit of clucking: that's from the ex-battery hens that generously provide eggs to be delivered for your brekkie if you let the site owners know you fancy it; in return, put a coin or two in the contributions box when picking veg and herbs from the gardens and polytunnel – it all goes towards buying their treats.

As you'll have spied from the name, greener living is important here: guests are requested not to bring chemicals on site and instead to use the eco-friendly cleaning products and bamboo loo roll provided. And that’s not all that’s provided: a selection of games, books and maps is to hand, and there’s a collection of bits of camping kit lest you find you’ve forgotten something vital.

For eats, you're welcome to light up a barbie or firepit, and there are a couple of pubs serving top-notch food a mile and a half away.

We only stayed at The Old Post Office for one night, but we wish we could of stayed for longer! The hosts Karen and Rikki were so welcoming and made us feel at home. The campsite was very well equipped and had everything we could have wanted and more! The campsite was beautifully clean and tidy and was very peaceful.
A perfect campsite to get away and to relax in nature. We didn't get a chance to explore the surroundings, but we 100% will be back to stay for longer and to explore the area!

Em va agradar:	Gorgeous few nights spent at the campsite. Glorious weather, views and countryside at a really lovely clean and well thought out campsite. Being able to pick fresh veg from the polytunnel was a definite highlight! We had a great day walking in and around Drefach Felindre and recommend the pub "Tafarn John Y Gwas" there.

To say Rikki and Karen go above and beyond for their campers is an understatement.
This is myself and my partners first big camping trip far away from our home!
We stayed at another camp sight the previous night (as we’re travelling around Wales) which was a wonderful experience but it is definitely fair to say that Rikki and Karen have raised the bar for camping.

The facilities, their personal helpfulness, their WARM welcome (metaphorically but still always nice in rainy wales), the set up of the camp sight! All remarkable. They even went out of their way to buy my partner lactose free milk for our arrival so we could have tea!! Best welcome ever!

It was nothing short of a pleasure to meet Rikki and Karen and their family of beautiful cats & chickens! And quite the honour to stay at their camp sight.

Hands down the nicest human beings we’ve possibly ever met.

Thank you for making our second night on our first camping trip a comfortable one! You pair of legends.

The site has a quiet peaceful atmosphere with plenty of space. Everything is meticulously clean, tidy and well-organised.The owners are very helpful and provided great information such as OS maps and walking guides to the local areas. You also can borrow fire pits and have access to a fridge and electric kettle. You can also help yourself (for a small donation)to home grown veg and fresh free range eggs. Thoroughly recommended.

As advertised - if not better. A wonderful escape to open space expertly hosted by Karen and Rikki. They set a very peaceful atmosphere and are generous with their space. Would highly recommend this site for a quiet stay, without any of the downsides of more populated campsites. The emphasis on ‘eco’ is strong with a compost loo (which is very well kept), a recycling bank, and a vegetable patch.
If offered, I would recommend the cooked breakfast (£5).
Extras can be bought such as wood and a shower (£1).

Ready for a ramble? Leave the car behind and set out on a walk along the banks of the Teifi river from the site. Hillier hikes can be had at the Llanllwni, Llanybydder and Pencarreg mountains (all within a 10-minute drive); a family-run riding centre 15 minutes away can arrange for you to see the stunning scenery on a horseback trek instead.

Not done yet? Make a break for the Brechfa Forest (10 minutes’ drive), where there are more walking routes and some fab mountain bike trails for all abilities to speed along, or leg it to Llandysul (10 minutes) for a whole heap of adventures including kayaking, coasteering and rock climbing.

After all this it’s possible you’ll need a couple of gentler outings: take it a bit easier with a wander round the National Botanic Garden of Wales (35 minutes’ drive), have a ride on the narrow-gauge Teifi Valley Railway (10 minutes) or take tasty trips to the New Quay Honey Farm (25 minutes) and the Caws Teifi cheese farm (20 minutes), home of the medal-winning Celtic Promise.
