Liked: 1. Range of pitches.
2. Staff - all friendly and helpful.
3. Always toilet roll in the ladies toilets!
4. Proximity to the beach - literally a dune hop away.
5. Rules - kept the place peaceful after 11pm and before 7am. Allowed fires and BBQs off the ground.
6. Lots of toilet/water facilities around the site.
7. Everything I'd forgotten available in the shop at reasonable prices.
8. Small amusement arcade/games room.
9. Dogs kept on leads most of the time.
10. Great beach.
11. Good entertainment - bit rough around the edges but good for a laugh.
Overall it is an excellent place if you want to be close to Harlech, Barmouth and a longer car journey to other lovely Welsh places. If you're a hardy camper or a weekend fun camper it's a super place to stay.

Disliked: 1. Weird smell around the facilities - it wasn't there last year!
2. Wind! It's often windy on shell island but with a decent windbreak you can create a sheltered area.
3. Prices in the cafe/restaurant/club house - they were a bit high but we cooked a lot so it wasn't too bad.
4. Queues for the showers - it wasn't too bad when I went early.

Liked: I honestly struggle to find words to describe this place.
It's so perfect in every way!

It's quiet, remote, peaceful, picturesque, clean.. the list goes on and on.

I've lost count how many times I've been to Shell Island.
With minutes walk away from the beach, this amazing place is just a perfect sanctuary for people and wildlife.

If I could, I'd live here permanently.

Disliked: Having to leave.

Liked: the sand dunes
the shop was well stocked (but a tad expensive)
good variety of well stocked shops
good water points around the site
Friendly shop staff
Friendly receptionists
beautiful views and local attractions
good roads through the camp

Disliked: the queue for the showers
the litter and beer cans strewn all over
being woken up at 5:50 am by a bin wagon driving around the site
Glass littered all over the beach
people not following the pitch 20 meters away from each other
£5.50 for a jacket potato???
clearly says no single sex groups but there were a fair few and teenagers camping getting drunk and swearing in front of my child

The ultimate campsite

Liked: The views out to sea one way and the mountains the other are amazing.
There is miles to pitch in and there is a 20m rule between tents.
The kids love the beaches and the shops are great.
Also the reastaraunt for sunday lunches is fantastic

Disliked: The toilets and showers can be dirty at peak times but this is down to the volume of people only.

Great site for families

Liked: Amenities - well-stocked shop, well spread loos across the site, showers (clean) and, most importantly, acres of sand dunes overlooking the gorgeos North Wales coastline.

Disliked: Prices in the shop were a little steep and you have to be careful to find some flat land. The lower-lying pitches can be a bit wet after rain, but overall it's great.

Liked: The views of the mountains around the site, the beaches and how the tide went out sooooo far. Walking around the site. I liked the fact that you really don't have to leave the site at all as there is a mini supermarket, gift shop, camping shop, bar, resturant/snack bar, launderette and a cash machine. Carbbing on the causeway or at the habour.

Disliked: The queues for the showers! and the porta loos (although I do understand why the had the porta loos)
