Liked: Great facilities, kept immaculately clean
Nice location, lovely landscaping and very conveniently located, close to village and good walks, amidst lovely local scenery.

Disliked: I would love to be able to recommend this site, as it really is very good. Right up to the few moments before I left, I was ready to give Heathfield Farm Campsite a great review. Sadly though, this was spoiled in those last few minutes, when the Warden, Gaye......decided to take issue with the fact that I was still packing my bike a few minutes after the 11 AM deadline for leaving my pitch. My tent was packed away, and I just had my kit on the picnic table nearby. She came and asked me if I realised that I should be gone by 11AM....I responded that I knew this, and that I was actually off the pitch. I offered to drag my things out onto the grass by the exit, whereupon she started telling me how rightfully she should charge me for being there, and that I should get a move on. I wish I had been quicker thinking, because I would have offered to pay the £5.50 fee, just to get her off my case. But I was quite shocked by her approach after the previous few days of her seemingly being amicable. This event really left a bad taste in my mouth, and from that moment, I couldn't get off the site fast enough. So I would say that, while the site itself is really nice, be warned that the warden has a tendency to be rather officious. I also wish I had mentioned how there were huge queues of campers waiting for my pitch (I was the only person on the site with a tent)....I really wondered how my still being within 6 feet of it could really be bothering anyone. I could understand her approach far better if it really had been busy at the site. A few moments after this exchange, a very nice gentleman asked me if he could photograph me on the site with my bicycle, as he was taking photos to promote the campsite. Were I a vindictive person, I would have refused after my treatment by the warden. But nonetheless, I happily agreed to his request. So if you see a photo of a guy with a bike, all packed up to leave, that was me, and I hope the image doesn't portray how disappointed I was feeling about my recent treatment. While the site is really nice, with excellent facilities, I will never go back there, nor can I recommend it as a friendly and pleasant place to stay, whilst at least one of the site wardens has this unpleasant and bureaucratic approach to customers!!
