Liked: Nice country setting, yet convenient for town. Compost toilets clean and didn't smell as expected. Very reasonable! Great fry in the morning.
Disliked: As top of hill fills up pitches end up on slope, so you have to think about the position of your tent / sleeping arrangements.

Liked: The location was fantastic, views were lovely and a 10 min walk to Morrisons and a 40 min walk to Weymouth beaches. Toilets were better than I thought they were going to be. Value for money - well lets be honest you get what you pay for.
Disliked: The showers - they were not on site, and this is not clear on the booking info - they were okay and not a huge problem, just by the time you had walked back it kind of negated the fact you had, had a shower x
would have been nice to see site manager around a bit more as we left 2 days early (due to the weather not the site I might add) and would have been nice to say why and goodbye - but that's a personal choice (not really a dislike!!)

Liked: This was the first time we went camping as a family. We have two daughters aged 7&9. The field where we camped was just what we wanted. No crowds or noisy campers. The few we met were friendly and one chap gave us some really good camping tips! I hope we can come again sometime. It would be nice if we could have a look around the farm next time. Perhaps we will have to ask farmer P nicely if that would be possible.
Disliked: Absolutely nothing! We had a great time.

Liked: The views were breathtaking, the field was perfect for my little ones to explore in safety. We didn't feel like we were being overlooked and were left to enjoy our time. Will be back!
Disliked: There's nothing to dislike as long as you come prepared for bare basics, toilets are cleaned regularly and drinking water is available. Bin bag provided for your rubbish and bags are regularly collected. Be warned, if you have young children they might have trouble sitting on the toilets and will need assistance getting up and also using a eco-system, non-flushable loo!

Liked: I stayed from the 1st July till the 8th of september, To work in weymouth. It is an esey acces to Weymouth of about 3 miles to town. I liked the quite and the views on this camp site. As i know it is a working farm and you pay for what you get, i needed a pitch for a tent and thats what i got to suite my needs acces to water and loes if i needed them. I have had a grate time with a good pair of binoculars and plenty of wild life to look at thats what camping is all about roughing it with a stove and sleeping under the stares. Go out and enjoy the wild life it self and see a lot more.
Disliked: Moaning pepole who go camping and expect everything at their feet.

Liked: Lovely view of river and fields. 24 hour garage mini market 5 minutes walk, as is bus stop for 10 minute ride to the beach and town. Farmer P and her extensive knowledge of all things Weymouth and great farm shop and breakfasts.
Disliked: The shower facilities at the leisure center over the road. The staff seem to have a very low opinion of campers and the showers are of a run down school standard. The dog kennel is pretty loud for about an hour in the morning and the proximity to town does mean a bit of traffic noise.

Liked: the views from the field were beautiful, and the eco toilets worked well enough, but were abused by other campers, far enough from main road to be safe for the children.
Disliked: Farm shop hardly ever open, only saw farmer P when she emptied eco toilets, and complained about them being abused by children, although it wasn't ours! The site is very easily missed through bad signposting and no indication of campsite only farm shop, and the lane leading to farm track in a bad state of disarray, needing to be resurfaced.

Liked: The site is surrounded by green rolling hills, and quiet and peaceful. A fantastic location, but it is just a field - don't go there expecting anything more! The compost loos were fine, they didn't smell and are far better than porta loos. Our three year old made friends and ran arround the site, it felt safe and we really enjoyed our stay!
Disliked: nothing! although I would take insect repellent if I were to go again!

Liked: the lovely views and peacefulness of the campsite. Nice and friendly basic camping. Plenty of room and not at all overcrowded. The farm animals, chickens and pigs made it a nice farm atmosphere. Farmer P's cooked breakfast was gorgeous. good value for money. the eco toilets were clean. Showers at the sports center were adequate and there was use of a hairdryer as well. Bus stop right outside to travel into Weymouth or you could walk (about 1 and half miles). Morrisons only down the road. Weymouth is a lovely clean seaside town with plenty to do for children and adults. It was especially good when we went as the Olympics sailing was on and it was very well organised with large screens on the beach to watch the coverage of all olympic events.
Disliked: nothing.

Disliked: the lane to and from the campsite was very ruff in places! also the showers over at the sports hall were not up to todays standards! no were to put washing up water and etc.....

Liked: The views are amazing Pitches are spacious and not crowded. Farmer P Being surrounded by the farm animals Easy access to city centre Use of Leisure centre bar and facilities The Ecotoilets are better and far less smelly than any portaloo ive been in M&S garage at the entrance to the site and Morrisons 10 mins walk down the road.
Disliked: nothing about the campsite at all - the leisure centre facilities arent the best but when camping i think any shower is better than no shower. I got the impression they are old changing facilities that they now allow campers to use - their members certainly dont use them. I was always the only one in there, there are plugs - which i used to charge my phone - and an ok-ish wall hairdryer. Not a dislike as such but worth mentioning. Oh and what i didnt know until i arrived is that its actually 50p payable every time you want to use the changing rooms - but not the bar. But hey for my 50p i got clean, dry and charged my mobile!

Liked: Being greeted by chirpy chickens on arrival - a delight!, and a friendly farmer to book us in. Found a good level pitch for our camper even though the field is on a hill. Quietness of the field at night. It's away from light and noise pollution. Clean drinking water on tap. Hand sanitiser gel in the loos. Ease of finding the site. Good directions. Bus stop in to town close-by. It's good old fashioned basic camping. Great if you don't mind roughing it a bit, but if you like all mod-cons on your doorstep, this isn't the place. Farmer P serves breakfasts too which we didn't try, but their jams and other farm foods are yummy.
Disliked: The shower facilities at the community college are in desperate need of an upgrade. Garden sheds for loos. Chemical toilets aren't so offending, but the sheds are a bit draughty and cramped.

Chemical toilets - but to be fair there were not many people camping (even though it was bank holiday weekend) and they were cleaned out regularly.

Liked: The view from the camp site of the Wey Valley was really beautiful. Wide open camping fields which were accessable despite heavy rain. A well stocked farm shop that cooks breakfasts and roast dinners to order. A friendly hard working farm owner - a good role model for our daughters !
Disliked: The peace was ruined by very noisy generators used by two different sets of campers which went on until the early hours. I would not wish to camp on the site again if generators are allowed next year. Maybe putting groups with generators in a distant field all together would be the answer that allows everyone else a peaceful nights sleep.

Liked: Beautiful area overlooking green hills, close to Weymouth and all it's activities, sandy beaches and rockpool beaches, lots of places to eat out, local to supermarket
Disliked: MUD AND TOILETS ! After several years camping with children on sites with facilities, this is the first time camping in a field with no facilities. It's difficult to review as I love camping and all that comes with it, but think next time I will go back to a site with facilities. Sadly while there we experienced a lot of rain, which the farmer/field were not equipped to deal with, resulting in our car getting stuck in the mud at the entrance. As the British Weather is unpredictable, I would not like to take a chance on this site again.

Liked: This was our first holiday in a tent as a family with two young daughters (10 & 6) so we didn't know how it would turn out. Best decision we have made as the holiday was better fun than previous holidays we had at Haven and Butlins. Our girls made friends on site and they played more traditional games, and there was plenty of space for them to play in. Girls always went to sleep early so we could relax with a glass of wine and enjoy the view.
The site is basic but the views are lovely. And Farmer P (Pip) did listen to people reference the one toilet and there are now two Toilets on site. Such great value for 8.50 a night.
You have to try the full breakfast. It fills you up for the rest of the day. Sausages and bacon were delicious and all from the farm. The service from Pip and Bill was exceptional. btw there is a toilet at the farmshop/eating area. Redlands Sports hub has showers and toilets and this is just a short walk away. Our daughters loved the Adidas sports area there (all free).
The new Park and Ride is only 3 minutes away by car. You pay 3.50 for the day and take a free bus into town which drops you right off at the beach. Buses run every 15 minutes - last bus at 6.15pm. There are also bus stops outside the campsite/farm entrance. You can see them on google street view.
There are Chinese/Indian takeaways locally which we tried and were fine. There is also a Morrisons and Lidl near by.
In summary this was one of our best holidays and we will certainly return in 2012. We paid a tenth of the cost than a haven/butlins holiday which left us with more money for other activities that we wanted to do.
Disliked: It rained on Wednesday night and the road up to the campsite just after the gate became a bit boggy which could be a problem. We just about made it in a vectra.

Liked: Great location near Weymouth - we cycled back and forth to Portland etc. And there's a Morrisons just down the road for all your grub n grog. Great views, and nice n relaxed - you could pitch up where you wanted. Farmer P is one cool lady - and we liked the chickens roaming about! No showers, but we were fine with that - you could use the showers at the Sports Centre across the road and they were very friendly.
Disliked: There was only 1 portaloo for a lot of people. Probably OK for out of season, but by Monday in August... There's little flat ground to park or pitch on.

Liked: it was easy to find and the field was in a great spot close to weymouth. I liked that you could walk down to the river which we went and sat at for a little bit.
Disliked: There was only one toilet which was ok because there wasnt too many campers on the site but if it was busy it would be a bit of a problem.

Liked: The campsite was very laid-back (literally just a field, with a clean portaloo and a drinking water tap), with lovely sunset and views over the fields. Nice to be on a farm campsite where you are not surrounded by masses of other groups, campervans etc - there were about 6-8 other groups in the field with us.
There are few amenities with the campsite, but for me that was not a drawback, but the transport links into central Weymouth were excellent. Buses 2, 10 and 31 go into Weymouth town centre from a bus stop 3-4 minutes from the campsite, by the BP garage.
Owners were nice and friendly, and is a bargain at £8.50 per night.
Disliked: They could signpost things a little better, in terms of the entrance from the road, and where the drinking water tap is - minor comments!
