Liked: The situation of the pitches in respect of taxi area for aircraft. We were able to sit out and watch the take-offs. Even though the weather was not favourable, we had a great time. We would definately visit the site again. Disliked: The shower and toilet facilities were basic, but clean. |

Great site. very generous plots and adequate facilities. steven s. (Mature couple, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: The space, the provision of electric hook up's, the location. Disliked: Not a dislike but the hook up points can be a bit of a strech from some plots, however if you take a long extension lead which we luckily did then it's no problem, you will need up to 15-20 meter one, that will be more than adequate. |

Liked: The site was lovely. Disliked: The showers, only 2 for the whole site with 3 toilets, when 2 showers on at the same time one went cold. One you could not change in as door opened into laundry area where other people could come in and use the toilet also. There were a lot of flies in the other one. Because of this we had to use the caravan shower. We found this very disappointing as we always look to pay for this service. Dogs allowed on site and off leads which we do not usually find. |

Liked: we spent a 6 night stay with our 3 children aged 2,8 and 11 after a dreadfull stay in portsmouth !!!!! not once did we hear "were bored" they had a lovely park with a slide swings and trampoline , the pitch's were massive and the price was excellent value for money considering the only thing you pay for extra is the washing ,machine and freshly laid eggs ...yum .... the toilets are unisex but that never botherd us at all and the showers were lovely hot and FREE .... the toilet and shower block was always kept clean and was even being cleaned and swept at 10pm ..... the site itself is in a stunning village and is a good base for exploring devon ..... and we are allready planning next years trip back there .... Disliked: The only thing that i have to honelsty say the Humphrey family disliked was packing up to come home :( |

Fantastic time had by all Ellisfamily (Family with young children, 1 review, 0 photos)
Liked: Very large pitches, plenty of space, very quiet place, staff and owners are very nice people, showed us exactly where everything was. The site was very clean and well kept. If you want a relaxing holiday away then this should be your first choice. Disliked: Not really a dislike but the showers were a little under powered and sometimes would go cold. But really this was the only negative thing :-) |

Branscombe Airfield and Camping - excellent value for money June S. (Extended family, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: Cleanliness of facilities Disliked: Nothing |

Liked: Very quiet, kids loved the play area (trampoline, swings and slide). The fact that there is so much space - and no blaring lights everywhere at night- and no lockable gate so you can come and go easily. People were very nice also which goes a long way. Disliked: Loos were basic, but kept fairly clean. Showers were brilliant, unless there was low pressure and then they would be a tad cold - but saying that first two mornings didn't have any problems at all. |

sea veiew devonwoodgirl (Family with young children, 1 review, 0 photos)
Liked: the sea veiws when it was not raining Disliked: we could not find the camp site not well sign posted their was dog poo behind our tent and the park had one trampline their with a silde not made yetthe showers where cold and only three looes and two showers how will this campsite cope if it was full found that the camp site is more for moter homes and retired people was dispointed with the site and never saw anyone in the office it was all ways closed
From the manager...
We ask all our campers to clean up after their dogs, and we inspect the pitches daily, however this is unfortunately not quite 100% effective all the time. If we'd been informed at the time, we would have immediately cleaned the mess up. The park is now complete. The campsite was full of tents this weekend just gone, and the toilet blocks coped well, with no complaints of cold showers. The site is not aimed solely at motor homes and retired people. This is a small, family run campsite, so the office is not open 24/7, however we are always contactable as we live onsite. |

Liked: Quiet site ideal for older children and couples or groups. The pitches are huge and the atmostphere very relaxed. You can come and leave at any time. The owners are friendly and the staff helpful. Toilet /shower facilities are good and kept clean. Idylic location with sea views. This has got to be one of the best sites I have visited. Disliked: Difficult if bringing a caravan/ motorhome due to narrow roads in and out of area. Not easy to find with satnav but if you ring site they will direct you when you arrive. Do not let this put you off it is worth it once you arrive on site. You will not be disappointed
From the manager...
Thank you for your lovely comments. I have slightly amended our directions on pitch-up to help people when they use Satnav to find us. |

A perfect site away from the rat race. Mariafullwood21 (Family with young children, 1 review, 0 photos)
Liked: A well managed, a well kept clean camping site with flat pitches. A beautiful site, in a wonderful area. This site ticked all our boxes. On arrival we were shown our pitch by the groundsman, who was very friendly and certainly gave the impression nothing was to much trouble. My daughter certainly had no complaints about the play area, and didn't mention the 'bored' word once. A added bonus was watching the planes take off and return. Toilets and showers were clean and tidy, they are unisex but certainly not a problem. This is not a 'all singing' 'all dancing' site. What it is, is a lovely peaceful site with a family run feel to it. And one for those who want to escape the rat race for a while. No activities on site, but if you don't mind venturing in the car or using your feet, then there is a lovely beach, pubs within reach. This site was breathe of fresh air without the feeling of just wanting your money and waiting for the next person to fill your pitch(like so many) . In my 5 year old words ' it's just perfect here' . Will be returning again and again. The Fullwood Family. Disliked: Nothing. |

mmm wont be going back rowewills06 (Family with young children, 1 review, 0 photos)
Liked: not being restricted to a time to leave site but unfortunately couldn't wait to leave. Disliked: the playground consisted of a trampoline in what seemed to be a private garden, the caretaker of the site wasn't away we were supposed to arriving, the ground had surface water (not well drained) which made the car spin on the field, the grass had just been cut and been left on the floor instead of picking it up to make it less messy. Not well sign posted or good instructions given on email.
From the manager...
I am sorry to hear that these campers did not enjoy their stay at our site and gave us such low marks overall. Unfortunately they came and stayed with us during the recent heavy rainfall, and I believe that this may have had an impact on their view of us. I'd like to respond to each point in turn; Playgound - we currently have a trampoline, and in the next few days will be installing a slide, swings and cargo net. We did hope to have this installed before the school holidays but unfortunately there have been some delays, bad weather being one of them. Our private garden is clearly fenced off from this area. Caretaker not aware of arrival. The booking was made just a few hours before arrival and the caretaker does not have access to the online booking system - however this was not a problem as he was able to immediately place the family on a pitch for the one night they stayed. The site was almost completely empty due to the awful weather. Surface water, not well drained. It had been raining in Branscombe for the best part of 2 months non-stop, so the whole village had practically been washed away! We are at the top of a hill so normally any rain drains away immediately, however unprecedented rainfall meant that we retained some surface water. I have just ordered some ground reinforcement mesh to prevent this from happening again, however with the recent sunshine we are now completely dry. Grass had just been cut - as per my point above, we had been unable to mow the site for weeks due to the heavy rain, so when the rain finally stopped on the day these campers arrived, we rushed out and mowed what we could. Unfortunately there was some wet mown grass as a result, and we apologise for that. It's certainly not something we would normally do, and now that we're dry, the grass is short and tidy. Not well signposted or good instructions on email. I'd appreciate some feedback on how the campers think we could improve on that - most people do find us easily, based on our directions and signs, however we'd be happy to incorporate some additional instructions if necessary. |

A few people have commented on our showers, and we take the comments onboard. It is our plan to upgrade the facilities in time for next season, with separate male and female showers.
