Beautiful, idyllic, stunning and almost wild

Liked: This site is as close to wild camping as you can get with toilets and a shower. It's a special place with views all around that are just stunning.

You can fish from 3 sides of the site, spend the day on the white sand beach or go off and explore the fabulous Omey Island, accessible via a sandbar at low tide.

Kris welcomes you and makes sure you're alright each day which was lovely. Being such a small site he has time to chat to everyone and as a result everyone make time to chat to each other. We met some lovely people who we'll no doubt see when we return.

Do book, we didn't I think we just got very lucky. Be prepared for basic facilities but a very special location. This is probably the nicest site we've stayed on and we've done far more than our fair share of camping all over the world.

Disliked: Having to leave one of the friendliest places we've stayed.

Liked: The beach was idyllic and brilliant for the kids. Beautiful clear water, full of fish and lots of shells on the white sand. Really quiet and our kids (aged 2, 6 & 8) had a ball. Kris couldn't have been friendlier and the toilet and shower facilities were basic but always very clean. If you like crowded, bustling campsites then this is not the place for you, but if you want to truly get away from it all...

Disliked: The wind (on one of the 7 nights we stayed)! A wee campers' kitchen would be useful, but Kris was very helpful with freezing ice packs etc., so we managed OK. We also disliked that we didn't catch a glimpse of the local dolphins. Maybe next time!

One of Ireland's hidden gems. Chris gave us the warmest of Irish welcomes and we felt like old friends when we left. Beautiful views, peace and quiet, lovely walks and pitches tucked away amongst the dunes.

Liked: A real gem of a site: it really did feel like like wild camping with security and facilities (including hook up) thrown in. If you like all the bells and whistles of a big commercial site then this one is not for you, but if you really want to get away from it all then we would definately recommend it. Did I mention the sunsets? and the stars? and the (almost) private beach with pure white sand just feet away from our pitch?

Disliked: Not being able to stay longer

excellent site, as close to free camping as you can get with amenities.
