Liked: What a beautiful park! Set in the grounds of the remains of an old stately home, hidden down a quiet road with beautiful views of the galtee mountains, my stay in this park was one of the best I've ever had. From the extremely helpful and friendly staff on arrival who went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable to the spotlessly clean, almost hotel-like washrooms, the basics here are really excellent. Then you have the extras, a cosy communal TV room, a well equipped campers kitchen and an indoor games room with pool and fusball. They also have mini-golf. The animal farm on site is worth a look at even if you dont have young kids. Its set in the old walled kitchen garden on site which is beautiful in itself. Theres a few cute quirky gimmicks like milking your own (fake) cow but its also interesting to talk to the guys running it and find out about how its developing and their plans to reinstate some of the land as an actual vegetable garden as it originally would have been. To relax in the park theres a really cute little cobblestone courtyard with chairs and tables and an excellent reasonably priced restaurant. Also they have take away pizza and wedges and a shop in receptions with the basics and more and tea and coffee. This is definitely a park for everyone from tots to grandparents and everyone and group size in between. when I was there there were young families playing in the playground while couples could still enjoy the peace and quiet and relax outside reading. some older families had bikes and seemed to spend time cycling along the many woodland trails. Disliked: leaving :( |
