Liked: When it was time to leave

Disliked: Whatever you do, dont dare to wee anywhere on site. I did, in the hedgerow, in the pouring rain and was angrily confronted by the campsite owner (or son of), standing immediately behind me mid-wee. Even in the middle of the night i was ordered to leave the campsite and not return. If i hadnt been over the limit to drive, i would've left there and then after such an attack. As i had no alternative i defied this command and went to bed while being threatening with the police being called, nonetheless i had no other option. I accepted being in the wrong and admitted that i should have made the journey to the toilet block but was met with an onslaught of over-reaction. Needless to say i did not have a peaceful nights sleep expectant of a police visit that night. They never turned up.If you like regimented and VERY anal campsites then you might tolerate it but otherwise avoid if you can!

A cracking site discovered by accident when checking out other sites

Liked: This site impressed us from the moment we accidently stumbled upon it. Every pitch is spacious enabling even the largest tunnel tents to be set up in non-cramped areas. Some pitches have natural hedge windbreaks that offer more pricacy and all have access to electric.
One of the major things we loved about this site was that the tenters were not treated like the poor relations and simply stuck in a field miles away from everything. The tourers are simply separated from the tents with low hedges enabling a brilliant friendly atmosphere.
Children are welcomed and catered for with lovely safe playing areas and a game room that sports a pool table and various beebedy beebedy games for the little ones and young teenagers alike. There is also a separate room with a full-size snooker table.
The little shop on site has a selection of things we all forget and the owners are always happy to help with anything.
The showers are immaculate with tons of piping hot water and the wash up and laundry area are spotless with every need catered for.
The site is quiet enough to relax but lively enough to meet new friends.
Lantwit beach is within walking distance with some fantastic cliff walks easily accessible. Lantwit town is also within walking distance where all we met were friendly and welcomed the campers.
A range of supermarkets are within close driving distance and Bridgend is only about 12 miles away. There is also a leisure centre within walking distance. Even though all these amenities are quite close the situation of the site means that the site is snuggled in pretty fielded areas with a working farm just down the road. All in all this was a delightful find that we will return to again and again.

Disliked: Absolutly nothing to dislike...
