Lots of family fun in store at Wimbourne, where an international food market takes over the High Street and the local shops and restaurants are brimming with foodie events.
As well as the usual tastings, cookery demonstrations and chef appearances, you can enjoy plenty of live entertainment, including music recitals, opera and book signings. More intrepid visitors can brave Wimbourne's very own 'Bushtucker Trials', or demonstrate their sporting prowess in the 'pumpkin slalom dribbling' and 'pass the cabbage' events at the 'Vegetable Olympics' (24 carrot gold medals?).
The children's programme at the 'Fun Food Factory' offers treasure hunts, messy food play and sensory games, with free goodie bags to take home; and there’s also a storytelling tipi.
After all the scoffing, you can work off the calories at a Fun Fast Fitness session, try your hand at wild cooking skills, or enjoy one of the 'Open Farm' days at a picturesque local farm.
