Nantwich Food Festival
Where is it? Nantwich Town Centre, Nantwich, Cheshire, CW5 5DG
A relatively new but very successful addition to the food festival circuit, Nantwich offers three days of gastronomic excellence, with a separate beer festival running alongside.
The pretty riverside market town takes on a carnival atmosphere during the festival, with street music and entertainment from the likes of the Nantwich Players, plus miles of sausages and mountains of cupcakes piled up on the numerous stalls.
There are cookery demonstrations from some of Cheshire's top chefs, and some innovative workshops on themes such as how to take professional-looking food photographs, or 'field crafts', where you can learn how to forage for wild delicacies without ending up in the local A&E!
Kids can get stuck in at one of the special 'Let's Get Cooking' sessions, learn how to make sausages, or channel Tom Cruise with some non-alcoholic cocktail making. Expect to see some non food-related attractions too, such as bird of prey displays and a miniature railway.
