A spectacular and secluded Spanish mountain setting that's also only a kilometre from town for all your food and drink essentials. And more splendid even than that? Not having to stroll at all for your evening eats, as dinner prepped by a professional chef can be booked, paid for and set in front of you while you barely stir from your serene spot. Such are the splendid attributes of Sueño Verde, a small eco project site in the León area of Castile and Leon among stunning scenery in the foothills of the Picos de Europa. Surrounded by forest, streams and mountains, the site has a remote and secluded feel but is only a kilometre from Boñar, a small but busy traditional market town where guests can pick up supplies as well as sample the local wine, cheeses and tapas. Guests have sole use of their glamping space, with access to solar charging points and shared facilities including coffee and tea making facilities. Vegetarian and vegan meals prepared by a professional cook are available at extra cost by arrangement; special dietary requirements can be catered for. Yoga, pilates or personal training sessions are also available on site from a fully qualified and insured teacher.

Local attractions

The site is in the foothills of the Picos de Europa, in the popular destination and outdoor activity centre of the Picos de Europe Regional Park. Local town Boñar is quiet for most of the year then lively in summer, as a popular spot for holidaymakers seeking solace from crowded resorts of northern Spain. Access the regional park via Boñar by the county road LE-331 towards San Isidro port or by the national road N-625 towards Cistierna. If you'd rather amble around town, Boñar is also home to the big town park of El Soto, with public pool, tennis courts, sports fields and the Porma river for boating and fishing. Department capital León is 50 minutes' drive away. As well as its festivals, the city is possibly most famed as a destination on the French Way of the Camino de Santiago, but there's plenty to see in town if you don't fancy accessing this most lengthy route. Make for the cathedral first, a spectacular sight built where Roman baths were set centuries before, then wander along the city walls before a look around the main museum or the exhibits at MUSAC, the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Castilla y León.
