Alqueva Rural Camping Resort is located 20 kilometres south of the Alqueva lake dam and 20 kilometres north of Beja. It's exactly 700 meters from the dam of the Guadiana in Pedrogão of Alentejo and the same distance from the Riverside Village of Pedrogão of Alentejo. This is a family-run business and an eco-friendly campsite using solar energy. The campsite offers a peaceful setting to take a walk, relax or ride bicycles along the cycle paths. There's a livestock production, and within the family rural household, you will find a private animal park to delight both adults and children. There, guests can see llamas, deer, horses, donkeys, ponies, goats, sheep and various farmyard animals. Bring the carrots and feed the animals.

Nearby, guests will find many trails and cycling paths and opportunities to go bird watching. In Moura (17km away) you will find friendly people, nice food and inexpensive restaurants. There is also a regional market every first Saturday of the month. Serpa is also 17 km away and offers great bakeries and local fine cheese producers. Both in Vidigueira and Moura you will find large municipal swimming pools. Visit the impressive archaeological monument known as Saint Cucufate Roman Ruins, a beautiful area dotted with medieval castles and ancient Roman ruins. There’re loads of things to do on the doorstep of Alqueva Rural Camping Resort including boat tours, fishing, horse riding, air balloon trips and wine tasting tours.
