Exclusively for site guests… that's the flavour of both the peaceful and private path from Camping de la Plage de Riez and the splendid sandy beach it reaches 200 metres away, on the Vendée coast's spectacular Côte de Lumière near the popular and pretty seaside resort of Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez. Have a hol here for easy access to Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez and other seaside towns like Saint Gilles Croix de Vie and Saint-Jean-de-Monts, hundreds of kilometres of golden Atlantic coast beaches carved out along this part of France, and famed French destinations like Les Sables d'Olonne and Nantes within about an hour. Camping de la Plage de Riez is a family-friendly and well-equipped site, set in a forest. It has good family facilities of an outdoor pool heated for most of the season, a multisports field, playgrounds and a TV room. A snack bar, takeaway and food shop are open in July and August. Bike paths surround the site and bike hire is available. The small seaside resort of Sion-sur-Ocean is about 15 minutes' walk away along the beach: that's a mighty pretty and peaceful walk too...

Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez is a toppingly popular seaside resort on the Côte de Lumière, set between two other much-visited resorts in Saint Gilles Croix de Vie and Saint-Jean-de-Monts. Several beaches are easily accessible from all three towns, as well as watersports, fishing, and walks in the forest behind the beach to Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez's north. The small seaside resort of Sion-sur-Ocean is within easy walking distance directly from Camping de la Plage de Riez's beach 200 metres away. It has shops, restaurants and a market on Tuesdays and Fridays, as well as spectacular views of the Bay of Sion from its high-priced village houses. Other options in the area include a waterpark, equestrian centre and funfair all about 10 minutes' drive away, or a look around the eco museum of La Bourrine du Bois Jucquaud.
