Cherryberry Lodges is a peaceful site set in the foothills of Sugarloaf Mountain on the outskirts of the market town of Abergavenny, South Wales. You're surrounded by heaps of walking and cycling trails through Brecon Beacons National Park and within easy reach of lots of visitor attractions in Abergavenny and watersports activities at Llangorse Lake and Llandegfydd Reservoir. Set in the quiet, leafy grounds, there's a peaceful vibe at Cherryberry Lodges, with cosy and comfortable accommodation that's kitted out with patchwork quilts, electric fires, fairy lights, a gas barbecue and a fire pit. There's also a breakfast area available to guests, where you can order full English or continental breakfasts. Amenities include hot showers, flushing toilets, a laundry service upon request, and lockable space for bikes and walking gear.

Local attractions

As the site is on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, it's surrounded by heaps of spectacular hiking and cycling routes, and nearby you've got canalside walks and canal boat hire at Goytre Wharf, pony trekking and visitor attractions such as Big Pit National Coal Museum, Abergavenny Castle and Museum and the Dan yr Ogof caves. Visit the Sugarloaf vineyards, also nearby, or check out the food festivals that take place in the area during the summer months. There are some excellent fishing spots along the River Usk at Llangorse Lake and Llandegfydd Reservoir, where you'll also find watersports activities such as waterskiing, sailing, windsurfing and rowing, as well as pedalo and canoe/kayak hire. Hop on the Brecon Mountain Railway vintage steam locomotive at Pant, 19 miles away, to travel along the full length of the Taf Fechan Reservoir and on to Dol-y-Gaer. On your return to Pant, visit the workshop to see where the old steam locomotives are repaired.
