Home of the famous camping log pods and set on the edge of the Black Mountains within the Brecon Beacons National Park, Bryncoch Farm is both peaceful and tranquil.
Open all year, the centrepiece of the campsite is a well stocked fishing lake, with a variety of fish species including carp. All of the campsite pitches are flat, and positioned around the outside of the lake.
The slow pace of life on the campsite makes it the perfect place to take a well earned break, whether it be fishing or simply relaxing and watching the world go by. For the more energetic, the farm provides a great base for walking, hill running or cycling.
Bryncoch Farm was bought by the Richardson family some 40 years ago, and until about 10 years ago remained as a fully working farm. With the difficulties in farming over the last few years, the family was keen to diversify, and given the location and natural surroundings the obvious solution was to branch into tourism and leisure.
The owner of the campsite, Trevor Richardson, chose a flat paddock as the perfect place to develop the new venture and set about preparing the three-acre piece of land. Keen to encourage all sorts of wildlife to the site, he also decided to create his own lake, using the stream that had ran through the centre of the paddock. Three years later and the campsite has matured beautifully, with lots of natural diversity. Trees and plants surround the site, ducks and geese call the lake home, and the lake itself has been stocked with various species of fish.

A lovely friendly family run farm site. graybunns (Mature couple, 1 review, 3 photos)
Liked: We stayed at Bryncoch Farm between the 7 th and 12 th of June 2011 in a pod and we enjoyed our time there. The site is very clean and well equipped and the wooden pods are very spacious. The television (with freeview and dvd player) was an added bonus as was the heating and mini fridge for keeping the beers cool. Trevor who owns and runs the the site is very friendly and helpful ... Disliked: nothing i can think of! |

From the A483 Llandilo, follow the A483 until you get to Derwydd and turn left (brown sign to Carreg Cennen Castle), then straight and follow the bendy road and do not turn off to the castle signs. Continue past the church on the right-hand bend and after two thirds of a mile you will see a sign for Bryncoch Farm and Southwalescamping (concrete road). Turn left up into drive and left onto the campsite.
From services on the M4, follow the Ammanford signs five miles to Ammanford, through the first set of lights. Bear right at second set of lights and take the third turning left just after the speed camera, then continue about three miles. You will pass the Square and Compasses pub on the right. Follow the road bearing left around the bend for 500m and you find our concrete drive and signs on the right.
